So good we went twice in 3 days! We had a lovely stay at the Pfister and it was a pleasant surprise to have such a great restaurant onsite. I highly recommend if you're in Milwaukee! Food was AMAZING, service was great and we simply loved it.

Honestly this would be a five star review were it not for our arrival and seating experience.First the good! The petite filet was fantastic. The mushroom soup was flavorful and packed with that umami essence. We shared sides, so I got a sampling of a few. The broccoli was charred perfectly. The garlic spinach was creamy and flavorful. The gnocchi Mac and cheese was outstanding, as you would expect any cheese dish in Wisconsin. Our server was a spitfire, she was all over the place and on top of every aspect of our orders. As for the bad. We made reservations days in advance. The hostess broke up our seating and we were seated at different tables. Understandable if they didn't have tables our facilities to seat our group, but they did and those tables were empty. Again, 5 star food but do not recommend for groups.

We showed up on a Friday without a reservation and were incredibly lucky that the bar area had seating. We were seated right away. The waiter was prompt and all the staff were overall really nice and approachable. We ordered lots of sides for our steaks and they were all amazing! The food overall was incredible and the steak was cooked perfectly. The N.A. cocktail was a little too sweet, but overall tasted good. I'd come back here and recommend others to stop by as well!

Today marked the second time I've taken my father here. He is a rabid steak lover and mad for shrimp cocktail. So, on a Sunday morning one would think it difficult to abide by his wishes for these items, but Mason Street Grill's brunch has them on the menu for Sunday morning (like a Vegas casino). Since I'm vegetarian, I looked up what was available online before booking. The place is in the modern back of the Pfister hotel. It featured a seriously outstanding jazz guitarist (who was so talented that my father thought it was a record playing in the background). But, on to the ambiance of the place. It was elegant, but approachable, nice wall of wine bottles separating the rooms, and overall a pleasant place to dine. There were a few confusing things that happened with our order, the creamed spinach came out with pancetta (and I'm vegetarian). It said it was vegetarian online but I was told it wasn't after asking. And, my father's steak was supposed to come with potatoes. Our waitress disputed it but I showed her the menu online and the manager sorted everything out. No problem. I also had the goat cheese pasta. It was fine. Overall, my father liked his filet but wasn't raving about it. I give Mason Street Grill a solid 4/5. I especially liked how the staff handled the mishaps. Well done.

Food and service stunning. Service amazing. So why did I rate a 3 and walk out from an otherwise stunning bourbon selection: Your staff fawned over a less-than-gentleman patron/connected to staff whose language was loud and just getting vulgar. Two couples left. I and another couple saw it initially as entertainment. Otherwise, nice venue for large groups, especially a high circular high-top to watch the process. Time and a place for everything: Staff, set the proper example! This is your mulligan. Missed a great Pappy's 12-year experience at a great price.

Three of us dined at the restaurant recently with an out-of-town visitor. Our server was very good and recommended wines that matched with our dishes well, but the service was a bit slow probably because the restaurant was quite full. The menu is large, and there are quite a few choices other than steaks despite its reputation as a steak house. I ordered Hudson Canyon Seared Scallops as my main course; the dish was quite flavorful, although the scallops were not as tender as those that I had at other restaurants in town. I also ordered the Seafood Gumbo soup and found the soup to be better than most outside those I had in New Orleans. The restaurant has a fine dining setup, and the price certainly reflects that. The quality of food is good but nothing amazing. As a hotel restaurant, it needs to have the capacity to serve a large number of customers when holding events, likely requiring standardization and limiting room for innovation. So, for the same price or a little less, one can find better-quality food elsewhere in Milwaukee based on my view.

We are return visitors to The Pfister Hotel and have always enjoyed our stays. This was our first visit to Mason Street Grill and we were impressed with the food and the service. Olivia was a delight to have as our server! She was helpful with our questions about the entrees and well-informed on the menu.My scallops were very good, but the highlight (for both of us) was my husband's filet. Living in northern Cook County, we have been to most of the top steakhouses in Chicago and his Filet with Brandy Peppercorn Sauce was phenomenal! One of the best ever.We shared Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée for dessert. It was a perfect end to day one of our Milwaukee getaway.

After going to carnevore and carbon steak this steakhouse doesn't seem that great. We made a reservation for 6 people on a Thursday night. For 6 people the bill was $616... my 7 oz filet was okay. My steak at carnevore and carbon steak were about same price and tastes way more amazing. They charge $18 for mushrooms !!! - get out of here. Brussel sprouts not that great. The waiter also took forever to bring our drinks. Overall it's way overpriced for what you get.

While it is very convenient for the hotel, it is not worth a visit. We had a later reservation, so the team spent more time preparing for closing (even though they had two hours before closing) than with guests. Our server disappeared for large portions of time. They forgot to bring bread, and when we asked, it took another 30 minutes before they told us they were out. The burrata and clams were delish, but the steak was standard and the halibut was flavorless/tasted only of jalapeños. It was a really expensive meal with mediocre food and inattentive service. The interior was decorated well, but it was also freezing cold. They actually heat the bathrooms at least.

We were seated at the chef/ bar area pretty quickly and our server was super attentive. the tuna was a complimentary item for sitting in the area and was a 10/10. i love good seafood especially tuna. The Fig Mule was super good as well. The steak was yummy too ! I had asked for medium but it looked more medium well done but still overall tasty. It was a chill place with some good food, good servers and good managers all around :) I'd love to come back soon
