I visited this Martha's Vineyard location Sunday to pick up a friend's favorite bloody mary mix that isn't sold in Illinois. The individual working Sunday was loudly talking on the phone for a personal call and did not greet me, ask if I needed help, nothing. I purchased my bottle, which had dust on it, and was on my way. The dust should have been a sign because when I looked the following day, the best by date was 1/4/23. I called the store to ask for an over the phone refund and the employee said it was crazy it had a bad date as he had just checked those specific bottles.... Then continued to ask me where the date was listed and noticed all bottles in store had that date. He said he could not give me a refund over the phone but to call the next day when the manager was in. I called the following day just to be told they would need the physical credit card and to stop by when in the area. I asked if I could be emailed a gift receipt for a friend to use, they said they didn't sell them. Just know if you go to this location... check dates and expect bad customer service.

Misleading name. I figured with a name like Martha's Vineyard this place would have some upscale wine, wine accessory gift choices and pretentious cheeses. This place and Martha's Vineyard have about as much in common as my cats and hard work. Good prices on standard mass produced beer, so if you need to stop in on your way to a college party (right after a day Brewer's Game because it's walking distance from Miller Park) then this is a four star store. They also oddly have a good price on Johnny Walker Green Label and a couple other high end top shelf liquor selections but their wine selection is pedestrian and there are no wine carriers or fancy corkscrews as you might want to give as gifts if you lived near Cape Cod. Also, every time I've been here (okay that's all of two times) some unpleasant shady character accosted me right outside the store (two different pushy panhandlers) and who needs that when looking for a good bottle of wine? You know I think I'd give this place three stars if it were called "Stony Island Liquor Store," because it reminds me of where I used to get Gallo White Port and Kool-Aid or ice cold Mickey's on the South Side of Chicago when I was 16. I have fond memories of that place. Maybe four stars if this place changed their name AND carried ice cold Mickey's and Gallo White Port and Kool-Aid. Then the panhandlers would be apropos.

This is an "okay" liquor store, but has a great location very close to Miller Park. They stock a good selection of beer, a decent selection of wine and all the hard liquor a tailgator could want. It's not as comprehensive as Ray's, nor as cheap as Discount but if you happen to be headed to a game or be in the area it will probably get the job done just fine.I wasn't hassled when I stopped, probably because I was with my husband but there is a bit of a "sketch" factor. Not in a dangerous way, but just in a typical seedy liquor store way.In addition to libations, Martha's sells loose tobacco (giant bags), hookahs and has two "for entertainment only" video poker machines. That was interesting for sure.

I actually really like this place. It could be because I have boy parts and the previous reviewers have girl parts which have, it seems, led to some unwanted attention on their part.Their experiences aside, I've never had anything but pretty durned awesome service here. After a recent move I live about a block away from 41, which turns into Miller Park Way if I head a bit south and so Martha's Vineyard is the closest liquor store to my house. The closest liquor store that isn't contained w/in a grocery store, anyway.Since, as I've said before, I'm inclined to support a small business over a large one I try and stop here whenever I need booze. Lately, this is a few times a week. Do I have a drinking problem? *hahahaha*Surely laughing when it's mentioned that you might have a drinking problem means you can't have a problem, right? This place has a pretty good selection of both booze and beer. Their prices for my liquor of choice, Bombay Sapphire, is a bit cheaper than Pick n' Save and a bit more expensive than Discount. It's also a bit closer than the latter so it all balances out. They have beers I can't find outside of Woodmans. I'm a cheapskate so I love the Gennessee Cream Ale, six tall boys for like three dollars. You can't beat that with a stick. The guy behind the counter is always super nice to me. If you don't ask he'll run your card as credit. But if you ask he'll run it as debit which saves him money and helps a local business. Did I mention I'm all about local businesses?Five Stars From Me, Because What Is The Alternative. Also, Because Awesome.

This liquor store has plenty of space and relatively friendly service, except for that time when I walked in and a strange man chatting with the clerk stared at me while I wandered through the store and then came up and leered in heavily accented English - "you very pretty." Ick. But they have a decent selection of liquor and wine. Nothing fancy, but it's convenient and close to my house.

Went there today looking for a bourbon that the distiller said was stocked there and was the only seller in Milwaukee . Looked around and finally asked for help. Great guys working there they found it in a hurry and they both had smiles on their faces. Imagine that! i will be shopping there for all my bourbon needs. it is a little longer ride but well worth the service.

I'm speaking about the Martha's Vineyard off of 76th and howard. There have been a number of mornings when I have entered the store when it was very warm outside and there was no air conditioning on! Whenever the manager is in there is no air on! When other employees are working alone there is wonderfully cool air! She has also stated to other employees in the presence that she hates alcohol?!! So why is she there????
