Somehow, the new owners have managed to resurrect Maria's even better than the former! We got a pepperoni supreme and the pizza was loaded with lots of fresh veggies and it was perfectly cooked. The meat was seasoned to perfection and the pizza had the right amount of cheese. Overall this place is great, please make sure they stay going strong!

This place was a gem back in the day. New owners. Only sell 4 pizzas. And they are like 9 bucks over past prices.

I'm so geek that finally Maria's it's open. After a week of re opening, I finally made it. Now i know they will get better, and I still have the same taste from the last day I had it. I know there are a few things they got fixed & I'm sure they will get better. Like the base of the pizza, some pieces I did notice were too thin than other slices & look like one side wasn't stretched enough, but beside all that I'm soooo happy they back & they added debit card as a option. I am looking forward to ordering more for my familia.

I'm writing this review for the new owners of Maria's Pizza not the customers. I really really hope that they read and heed my advice because it stems from decades of experience with eating the ORIGINAL Maria's pizza. There are two things that are not quite right about the new pizza, the sausage and the vegetables! These are key ingredients that made Maria's pizza taste so good and unique. FENNEL, FENNEL, FENNEL! Where's the fennel sausage?! The original always had big hand-picked chunks of fennel sausage, I mean 1" to 1.5" chunks of sausage filled with whole seeds of fennel, this is important and can NOT be skimped on! Please please please do it like the original, if you have the original recipe and if you have ever eaten an original Maria's pizza you would know that this is a signature feature just as is the ultra thin crust and large oblong size is. Next, the vegetables. This is a crucial ingredient for the supreme pizza! The onions and green peppers MUST be diced into the tiniest little cubes as possible. Personally, I can't eat large slices of these vegetables as they will give me heartburn and acid reflux but in the small diced bits they are simply delicious and an absolute MUST for a Maria's pizza. I'm writing this hoping that you take my advice as constructive criticism because I and many others want you to succeed and I want to continue enjoying the exquisite recipe of the original Maria's pizza. My siblings and I (9 of us) have been eating the pizza since the early 1960s and our many children and grandchildren have grown to love it as well, so it is with the sincerest respect that I ask you to please correct these "minor" items that will help make our experience more enjoyable and more memorable like the original. As it is now, it's been disappointing, I've had pizza with waaay too may olives thrown on the pizza and large slices of vegetables and sausage the consistency of ground hamburger with no fennel flavor in it at all I'll continue to try your pizza to see if you adjust but if it doesn't change then I can NOT eat it or recommend it to anyone as I would the original pizza.

Went to Maria's with my bride on Sat night on Jan 25th Sat night approx 7:30pm. We were greeted in a timely fashion by our waitress. when asked if what we would like to drink, I asked for a Chianti (hey when in Rome) I was told we are out of wine. I asked for any Miller product or beer and she replied we are out of beer. I finally asked well then what is available to us, I asked do you have Pepsi or Coke?? We have Cola and Grape and other flavors of soda, (I thought OK ) it's not her fault lets have soft drinks( which were good by the way). We placed our pizza order along with the soft drinks and the pizza came back accurate to what we ordered along with an order of garlic bread which was very good. Now how to make our experience or anyone's dinning experience for that matter a bit better. 1) to have no beer or wines available when they are on the menu on a Saturday night is in my book inexcusable ( especially in Milwaukee) the manager should have (and maybe he/she did, I don't know) the mgr or owner once notified at the very least should have went to neighboring liquor store or Pick n Save and purchased 1 cs of Miller Lite and possibly another beer to at least have a beer offering in between beer supplier stops, while at the Liq store or Pick n Save they could have also purchased the 4 pack wines of Sweet Red, Merlot or White Zin, so you could offer a wine selection to the customers vs just saying we are out...2) the Garlic Bread (just buttered per our choice) came out warm and very good, but it was served with ice cold marinara vs warmed or at least room temp3) I feel a small dinner salad should have been available as well. I am not asking that Maria's brings in all the materials to make at least side salads, but if they could contact a vending type company that produces salads and deliver to Maria's and keep track of rotating the salad inventory every 2-3days to ensure freshness where Maria's will not have to worry about it, and offer (for example) Paul Neuman's salad dressing or another type salad dressing packets, Italian, Balsamic, and maybe a Ranch, so the dressing btl's do not go bad, and then Maria's could be in the salad business as well with very little waste.4) Lastly this restaurant is under new ownership.... for at least possibly 1 yr it was pick up pretty much only... one would thing within that first year and now that they are open for dine in, they could have started to replace their vinyl red check table clothes as most of them are cracked and old, as well as some of the chair seat. If they purchased 3-4 table clothes per first yr of takeout operation, they could have all been replaced by now, as for the cracked chair seats again get a quote of all chairs for a better replacement price and try to do 2 per month and then the chairs would start getting repaired overtime. In summary our pizza, drinks, and garlic bread were all very good, they just need to cosmetically replace things from the original owner. think about getting 4pack wines, you will know your cost, and will not have to worry about 750ml btls going flat, and think a side salad supplier to rotate inventory keeping everything fresh and rotated out every 2-3 days with foil pack dressings and this would really round out your menu offerings. Again, all food items and drinks were very good during our visit, but there needs to be something in place if you run out of beer and wine in between supplier visits. thanks much - mark

Last few times pizza was undercooked. Very soggy in the middle and barely any cheese. For $26 it was disappointing.

The service is always amazing here. The food is very good in my opinion. I typically like my pizza a little underdone and that's usually how it comes without asking. If you want a bit crispier you should definitely ask. The environment is a Christmas type vibe all year long. Many religious photos around and the decor has been consistent since I started going 15+ years ago. If you have people in your group that have issues getting around, the bathrooms are downstairs and there is no elevator so keep that in mind.

Sadly this is a shadow of the original Maria's pizza. They changed some key things about the recipe. Mainly the sauce and the fennel in the sausage. Also the pizza is routinely undercooked. This was a restaurant run by a family that knew their craft. Now it's manned by teenagers likely making minimum wage. I have eaten Maria's for over 40 years and it's a disgrace to continue calling the restraint Maria's. The initial promise by the new owners was to keep everything original. This is not the case. I will likely never know if the business goes back to the original recipe since this is not the original or a good pizza any longer. The owners clearly wanted to cash in on the legacy that is Maria's. If they truly wanted to keep it alive then why change ingredients and recipe and let unskilled people run the establishment?
