Mapleway Bowl & Restaurant

This is a small neighborhood bowling alley with 8 lanes, a small bowling shop and a fairly good size horseshoe bar that has a small kitchen menu.Having frequented many bowling alleys in my time, this one is probably one of the more shadier appearing ones and could use a good sprucing up.. But the bartender was super friendly and the bowlers who were at the bar after league were polite. Definitely more of a locals league alley. They do offer open bowling, but I'd call beforehand to get their times, as it seems most days have league bowling going on.While we were bellied up to the bar, we were taught the dice game. The guys explained it along the way and it was actually pretty fun. My uncle rolled 5 sixes on his first roll and that was just classic! Wish I had video'd it!There's a large parking lot. Restrooms are clean. Could be a little better lit from outside, but again...It's a small alley.Will visit again

1/15/22 - 4:05 PM As soon as you walk in: old school. I love these type of places and you can literally smell classic or an old stench, you decide. Ordered a gin & tonic to kill time: perfect.Pros: Cheap drink prices (G&T: $2.50)Music in background Cons: NO Touch Tunes connectivity *They accept Debit Cards, but they don't? I was asked to pay cash for my first drink then they would accept my card? ATM is cheap ($1.25) but out of curiosity I asked why: "that's just how we do business ". Nitpicks: Take my Debit Card dood, I wanted to start a tab.

I actually thought I would never ever walk into Mapleway. From the street it looks like the kind of place you'd go for any of the following things:Drugs.To drink away some awful memory.If you are trying to get murdered in a parking lot.Turns out I was wrong, and there was actually a crowd of young Oconomowoc kids inside bowling... Young people! Probably desperate for something to do because it's Oconomowoc, after all.Well, Mapleway is bar none the best bowling alley in Oconomowoc.It's weird, though, it's like, way too small. If I did a running slide on my socks like Tom Cruise in Risky Business, I could get from the first lane to the last. Anyway, God only knows how I got my wife and nieces to go. I was totally kidding, but when they said OK, I didn't know what to do, so I grabbed my bowling shoes and we went.

The Mapleway has been in Oconomowoc forever. Literally forever. I remember having our 5th grade "band field trip" here after playing out at Ashippun Elementary. Now THAT'S old! They were very accommodating after the poor service we received at Sweet Mullets. The food is your typical bar food. Pretty greasy and bad for you, but it'll soak up whatever your drinking. Basically it's a bowling alley full of townies - but they are NICE townies. No uppity pretense here, and if we were loud that was OK by them. (see my review of Sweet Mullets if you're wondering why I threw that in there). The guy running the bar that night was very nice and quick with the service. It worked for us.

Love this place!!! So much fun, the staff is friendly and accommodating. Always a great time. Food is yummy, especially the pizza. Beer is always great. Good prices too! Love it

Our extended family went to Mapleway and had a great time. Bowling was fun, service was great as was food. All workers made sure we enjoyed ourselves. Great place to go.

This is definitely a local spot that welcomes anybody looking to unwind! Mapleway has good bar food and high quality bowling lanes. The bartenders pour a great drink (get what you pay for!) and are friendly. The prices are fantastic but keep in mind, they only except cash. There is an ATM available. If your plan to come in and act like a judgy Karen or Ken because it's older and your standards are higher than everyone else, then maybe this isn't the place for you. If your looking for a good time, comfortable chair and great conversation then please come in. I am a local who's kids grew up bowling here. We are a very friendly group and always welcome anyone who walks through the door.
