Main Street Meat Company

The meat and deli are both great. You can get a freshly made sandwich and eat it there or takeout. They have a wonderful selection of fresh meats as well as frozen meals.One thing I always get there for my dog is the "chicken chips". My dog loves them.

I stopped on my quest to stop at meat shops in my travels and try meat sticks and anything else that I might like. The people were very helpful and asked me several times if they could help me find something but I was a blank canvas with nothing in mind. The meat sticks were buy one get one for free which was nice because they were expensive. The shop has a small dining area and serves food from the overhead menu if your hungry. The place has all the typical meats, sausages, hams etc etc that you would expect. I ended up with some meat sticks, heat and serve smoked ribs and some breakfast sausage for my sample of the shop. The meat stick pieces were pretty good and I have to wait to try my other items and update my review later.

This is a meat market located on IL 251 in Roscoe IL. They do have a cafe attached, but I'm more interested in the marketportion itself.Given my recent obsession with smoking, I decided to give this place a try. Plenty of things to smoke. It would keep me busy for a few months easy. -Main Street Meat prepare their product in house. Most of the meat cuts all seem to be butchered on site and it is a nice touch. Quality seems better than the average packaged meat you find at Wal-Mart-Staff was very pleasant, helpful, and patient. I was taking my sweet time.-Decent set of spices, peppers, and sauces. Even though the one I tried wasn't that great.-They even have other items such as grill accessories, beef jerky (again in house), local dairy haus ice cream (i need to review them too),and a neat little thermo bag.-And finally even even had home made dog treats... and that's just cool. My dog didn't really go for the pig ear, but she's weird anywaysMoving on to the cons:-The biggest one is that you'll be paying a premium here. That's true with any specialty meat market. They may have a feelspecials though that may lower the price tag a bit. -I still have a lot to learn with food prep, so I may be tossing away some extra money needlessly on failed experiments.-I enjoyed the ribeye, but again, the spice was a miss. That was my fault. Not theirs.Bottom Line:So the verdict. There are a couple of local meat markets in the area, but the staff, cleanliness, and professionalism, had me give it 4.5 stars on Yelp which means its a 5. I will be back.

Love this place! I came here because I saw they had a special online. 2 meatloaf and 2 twice baked potatoes was under $10 and it was so good and easy to cook - just pop it in the oven to bake. The options here are endless. They obviously have great meat selection but they also have frozen meals ready in their freezers and fridge. For a Christmas gift, I purchased their dinner for 2 boxes and it's such a good deal and the recipient loved it! They also have a food area where you can stop in for lunch.

This place has exceptionally high quality meats. More expensive? A little. But the quality difference is conspicuous.They have other items as well. Check it out. They have special gourmet dog items. There is a little cafe area, too.Where they really shine and outdo everybody else -- holiday meats. Thanksgiving turkey for example. Fresh, locally raised and slaughtered. This is another locally owned family business of a high quality product that we need to keep around.

Selection is phenomenal - this place is passionate about meat. You can buy frozen sides and prepared entrees. Pies available too. Staff friendly. Looks like they can help process venison too.

Claim to have restaurant quality meat, but after trying twice, buying filets then NY Strips for special occasions, I have to completely disagree. I won't waste another penny at this place.

When going in to get something to prepare for dinner once in awhile, this place and the staff has always had a wonderful atmosphere. Products have always been fresh and is a go to instead of major chain grocery stores that sell low quality meats.Glad they are part of the community.

Love calling in my order while I'm out grabbing other groceries. It costs about the same as the stores and support local!
