Main Street Cafe

We've gone here for breakfast many times over the years. It had a remodeling a couple of years ago, which really improved the ambiance. They have a huge breakfast menu with sizable portions at good prices. They have great omelettes, skillets etc. Today I had the corned beef hash skillet with 2 eggs over easy and marble rye toast. I asked for the hash browns fried crispy and it came out perfect. It was delicious and filling. My wife ordered French toast with blueberries. She felt the French toast was good but it had blueberry pie filling rather than fresh blueberries, and it was too much and too sweet. She had to leave most of the filling behind. Next time will ask to clarify if fresh fruit. Server was very attentive and friendly, and kept very smooth coffee filled.

A nice little restaurant. My husband visited a couple of times for a business lunch meeting and loved the food and service. We were in town and decided to stop in for lunch. Breakfast is served all day so we both ended up ordering breakfast at noon.My husband had pancakes and fried potatoes with onions and said it was delicious. I had the corned beef and potatoes with scrambled eggs. It comesWith cheese on top and toast. I'm glued intolerance so asked for a couple corn tortillas in place of the toast. This cafe has several Mexican dishes on the menu so replacing toast with corn tortillas was not a problem. I was brought 4 corn tortillas to replace the two slices of toast.I enjoyed my corned beef and potatoes with cheese dish. It was above average for others I have tried. I have never had it with melted cheese on top. I really liked it. We both had take out boxes to enjoy tomorrow.They had a specials board and a dessert board that were not on the menu. Sadly with my gluten intolerance I am unable to try them.We look forward to frequenting this little gem when we come to town.

If you love the old school cafea from the Midwest then this is a MUST if in Watertown Wisconsin! The charm of the 50s is felt as soon as you walk in. The retired men and women having some coffee together at one of the tables and the long counter with stools is occupied by some.local business people having a great breakfast while reading the local paper before work! I stopped in while I was in town to visit some friends and I truly miss seeing more of these places. The coffee is always hot and fresh and the food is made to order and steaming hot when it comes to you! I had the pleasure to meet Leah and Marie who took care of me and even told me about their special green salsa that is made by a lady in the back! Make sure you ask for it because it makes your omelette wayyyyyy off the charts! I got the farmers omelette and it's a huge 3 egg loaded wi5h bacon, sausage, ham, peppers, onions and mushrooms (I didn't get mushrooms) and topped with a lot of Wisconsin cheese! I loved they offered sour dough bread and then got some killer and I mean killer corn beef hash! Holy cow it was delicious! This is a place I will definitely be back when in town and the people working there are as friendly as humanly possible! Our group of 5 stopped in at 1:00pm on a Sunday (they close at 2:00 on Sundays). We ordered:A hamburger with sweet potato fries, a monte cristo sandwich with a cup of soup (for an extra $1.00), the chicken florentine entree, biscuits and gravy with hash browns, and shrimp alfredo with a cup of soup.The service was good but a bit slower than I'd prefer although the server was very nice. 3 out of 5 of us were very satisfied with our meals. The shrimp alfredo was supposed to be shrimp scampi and it hardly had any shrimp in it. In defense of our server, the shrimp was listed on the menu under a section titled new specials and was only listed as "Shrimp". The biscuits and gravy tasted like it came out of a can.

Traveling through on our way to Michigan and came across this gem of a restaurant. My husband loves the liver and onions which is so hard to find! Service was excellent and has a great hometown atmosphere everything we had was awesome!

This spot is a hidden gem! Loved the food, the atmosphere was fantastic! Friendly, food was amazing. They allowed my service dog in and made sure we were comfortable and our food was to order. Definitely will be back to try other entrees!

10:50 AM on a Saturday. Had a good breakfast there today. Good coffee and friendly service. Food came out quickly and hot. Breakfast served all day. My wife did a egg, pancake, bacon combination. Pancakes were good but not like the ones we live up north. I had the corned beef hash skillet. It was very good. I didn't ask if this made in house but it was pre-made it was a little chunkier that most of the canned stuff you can get. We splurged on the deep fried cheesecake. It was flavorful but not what we expected. Good filling in some form of a fried wrapper. Served with whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries, and vanilla ice cream. We'll go back to try more menu items. (Especially when I need to head that way to go to Glenn's meat market)

Menu offered an awesome variety. Food was great and service was fantastic. Casual, small town cafe. Solid meal!

I'm very glad they decided to expand. I love their breakfast omelettes the best. My friends love getting skillets from here too. It's my favorite breakfast place in Watertown.
