Maggio’s Wood Fired Pizza

Everything you want from a wood fired pizza place! So good. Staff was very nice and they have a little play area for the kiddos which was a plus. Oh yeah and the pizza and cheesy bread were so delicious. (We got the margarita and the SS garlic). Good beer and wine selection too. Big plus Gathering Place Brewery is right next door. Definitely coming back!

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. We were greeted by the proprietor as we entered and had a very friendly conversation while we ordered.The restaurant is very clean, well laid out and well lit. Our pizzas arrived quickly and they were OUTSTANDING!!!!!! The crust was crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside and very flavorful. The sauce was delicious and the sauce to cheese ratio was perfect. The Italian sausage and pepperoni on our pizzas were very tasty It doesn't get any better than Maggio's

Parents loved their meatball sandwiches and I loved the smell of the place when I picked up their food. Had I been in the market for a pizza, I'd have gotten one for sure! Just watching them take out the stone fired pies made it look amazing!

Got takeout here a while back and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was! I loved the thick pepperoni slices, and the pizzas were cooked perfectly. Not the cheapest pizza, but worth it for good wood fired pizza. Can't wait to get it again!

This was the new restaurant of the week and a bookmark so I stopped by to check them out. The place looked clean and like it was a not that old because everything looked fresh. They have daily specials and I saw limited alcohol on display so pizza and a beer is an option here. I wasn't feeling like a pizza but I do like a meatball sandwich. I try to always ask if I can get it on garlic bread and they only have garlic bites so I ask can you brush the garlic bites garlic butter on the meatball bread and no problem I was told.The meatball sandwich looked amazing on fresh bread with a side of pasta salad. The bread had a nice chew and very fresh, probably made in house because it had a grill flavor like it was cooked in the wood oven which was a great layer of flavor with the garlic, red sauce, cheese and meatballs. The red sauce was perfect for the sandwich and seasoned nicely. The three meatballs were not super large but average size. This was a delicious sandwich especially with the garlic added and it should be a menu option because it takes the great meatball sandwich to the next level. The pasta salad that comes with it had perfect Al dente pasta and good as well.

Brilliant execution here.Small but mighty menu. The restaurant is clean and has a simple vibe with white tiles on the wall and wooden chairs. Authentic and simple.Staff was super friendly and we got our food quicker than they projected. The cheese sticks were amazing and loved the pizza. The dough is perfectly chewy and very flavorful. The caesar was okay but will probably skip next time. It's more of a vinaigrette than a creamy dressing. Not bad but just not what we were in the mood for.Everything was great and pretty reasonably priced. The place was busy which is a testament to how great it is. If we could give it more stars, we would. Cannot wait to go back!!!

First time coming here and wow so glad i did! We ordered the fig and prosciutto pizza and the jerk chicken pizza. The jerk chicken pizza is delicious! So flavorful but not overpowering with jerk seasoning and i love the creamy sauce. Definitely our number one pizza. The fig pizza was another great pizza. Not overly sweet with the fig spread. I could do without the arugula on top. Other than that I highly recommend both. We will be coming back for sure. This is my new favorite pizza spot

A friend of mine suggested we meet here for lunch very recently, located in the heart of downtown Tosa. It was a beautiful Saturday so three of us met here after a walk. We ordered a Margherita pizza and a Vegetable pizza though some brunch pizza options were also available. The owner was friendly, and inside there was a massive wood fired oven where the pizza gets baked. You can order an orange as an appetizer, "yes, an orange", as it says on the menu (as well as other items of course), and there are a couple of salad and sandwich options, if you don't want pizza or you'd like a salad to go along with the pizza. We wanted to sit outside because it was a gorgeous day. There isn't really outdoor seating but there was one little bistro table outside shared with the local businesses on that side of the street, so the three of us settled there, and though it was a bit tight on space, we didn't mind. Inside was spacious with lots of seating and indoor games, too. I parked in the small public lot just down the street. There is limited parking in front of the shop right on North Avenue. Our pizzas arrived quickly and they were really delicious. Wood-fired pizza is YUM. I liked them both. Two pizzas were enough for three of us and with some leftover to take home and savor again the next day. You can easily stop in while on a walk or shopping for a bite to eat. This is a great stop for scrumptious pizza.o

Date of visit: August 18, 2023We met up with some friends who could actually walk to this lovely little spot and had a great meal, hanging out for nearly three hours and never once getting a "when are they leaving?" glare from the staff!My husband had a Caesar salad that he liked--and I agree since I finished it! I went with the pepperoni pizza; classic and delicious. We began the meal with an order of garlic knots which were fantastic, even though I was concerned that they were not fully cooked from their appearance. My fears were unfounded as they were cooked thoroughly and would highly recommend them. I finished the meal with gelato, pistachio, of course. This was also great, though I am surprised there isn't a dessert pizza of some sort, perhaps a peanut butter and chocolate or maybe something with Nutella. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area!

Stopped in for lunch on Saturday. Love that it is fast casual - the way pizza should be. The crust is both crispy and chewy - also the way it should be. Service was excellent, my food pizza was ready promptly and brought to my table. Loved reading about how they built the oven themselves. Maggio's is a true gem!
