Really good sandwiches and very friendly staff, would definitely go again, the guy working the sandwiches said the breakfast is great too.

Super quick service and friendly and attentive staff. The blonde girl with glasses is always very quick and kind and puts a smile on your face. Anything you could possibly need for the weekend and the hot sub was amazing.

Not much else to say than this is the best place in Madison for sandwiches. Breakfast and Dinner sandwiches are amazing, brought my parents here to have them try it and the next morning before I woke up they went back to get another. All my homies love Tags

Great cheap beer selection and BECs!This place has everything to offer from bacon egg and cheese sandwiches (late night) to beer! FREE popcorn. FRIENDLY staff. BOARS HEAD meats. It was a cold spring night. Rain danced by the bright Madison lights on State Street, and my hunger left an empty hole in my stomach. I was parched. In need of a drink, as well. As my dear friend and I passed by closed restaurant after closed restaurant, I thought my hunger would overcome my sickly body. My blood sugar was low, and I felt quite faint. State Street had failed to quench my need for a late supper. It was at that moment by which my food senses tingled, and I had an epiphany. I needed to go to Tags. I needed an ice cold Powerade, some fresh (free) popcorn, and a warm, grilled, succulent, sexy sandwich. And sexy that sandwich was. Months later, I can still taste that gooey cheese and piping hot salami on my tongue. It gives me a tingling sensation even thinking about it. Ugh, if I could go back to Madison on this warm summer day and get that Tags sandwich I think I'd discover the 4th dimension. But until then, I'm sequestrated to my small bedroom on the East Coast, dreaming about this fantastic establishment. It's only appropriate that I end this review with a haiku. Staying at the Lowell Center, I was thirsty and wanted a newspaper (since I missed the free ones at the Lowell. Going to State Street one is forced to run the gauntlet of pan handlers. Walking down Langon Street was quiet and quick. The store is kinda secreted in the basement. Nice little deli and convenience store. The gal that waited of me was very nice and laughed at my attempt at humor. The store had everything a college student could ever need. A functional deli was on hand to make, what I hear, great sandwiches. It's a bit of a secret to the students in the area, as it is tucked away in fraternity row. If you're hungry or thirsty or want a cold beer seek out this little gem off the main drag in Madison

Theirs is by far the coolest, best, nicest staff market in all of madison. Great location, great deli, great products, they sell everything you can think of! And their open until 12/3am! Chuck & Julie, are so nice and have tons of knowledge of all their products from Vaping to beer to deli! I HIGHLY recommend, TAGS! Did I mention how they have free popcorn! You guys are amazing! I get at least 8 meals a week from here. Deli that doubles as a convenience store? I'll hit it every time on the way home from class. I'll stop in when I want a drink. They make great sandwiches and the soup/chili is amazing. Anything you could need as a person living in Madison is at MacTaggarts. The employees are also very chill and friendly. Make sure to say what up to Chuck. He's the homie.

We were heading out of town after being in Madison for the first time for Thanksgiving! My husband is always trying to find a deli like he grew up with in NYC and this was exactly that! Right in the smack dab of Greek Row and pretty sure it was in the basement of a fraternity house but it was amazing! We got bagel sandwiches and they hit the spot!

Unless you are a student (which I am not), you will never stumble upon this place. That said, it is worth the trouble to find some nearby parking and give this place a try. The best deli sandwich I have had in Madison and a good value too. Super friendly staff and, of course, free popcorn!
