Ma Fischer's

Delicious breakfast food. I know Ma Fishchers has a reputation of being the place you go drunk after going out but I love this on a Saturday/Sunday morning. My go to is the classic two egg breakfast with kielbasa sausage and over medium eggs.

After nearly 30 years and what must be 150 visits, we will not be returning to this restaurant. With so many viruses going around--Flu A, COVID, Norovirus, Measles, and even concerns about Bird Flu--I politely asked the manager if they sanitize their menus after each use. His response? A flat-out "no."When I simply mentioned that a lot of illnesses are circulating right now, his response was shockingly rude. Instead of acknowledging my concern, he sarcastically asked if I wash my hands every time I touch my phone. A simple, respectful acknowledgment of my concern would have gone a long way, even if no immediate changes were made. Instead, the attitude was dismissive and condescending.If you value customer service, basic cleanliness, and an establishment that cares about public health, I'd strongly recommend going elsewhere. Also, if you're environmentally conscious, this restaurant still uses Styrofoam--something most places have moved away from due to its impact on the planet.There are plenty of restaurants that treat their customers with kindness and consider both public health and environmental responsibility. Sadly, this is no longer one of them.

Often when I would be at the Oriental Theatre at the other end of the block, I would contemplate stopping at Ma Fischer's for a late night snack. I was recently able get stop before a movie I was seeing and dine in for dinner instead. I got mozzarella sticks and, since you can order breakfast all day long, a build your own breakfast burrito with bacon, egg, cheese, and spinach.The mozzarella sticks were Italian breaded and clearly out a box. Nothing special, but they hit the spot.The breakfast burrito was ok. I've had better, but I've had worse as well. The hashbrowns that came with the burrito were bland and needed salt and pepper. I wish they had been a little crispier.I heard my server complain to another that a different table didn't leave a tip for them. Sorry to hear that, but it's also not something you should be mentioning within earshot of customers. Maybe that unprofessionalism had something to do with it?

Perfectly fine diner, good service, good food and coffee. Just around the corner from Black Cat Alley as well.

I had a great eggsperience here :) !! Very cozy atmosphere and super fast and friendly service... Even on a Sunday at 9:30 it was not very crowded. I got the garden veggie skillet with feta cheese and tzatziki - was not the most flavorful thing but was good! The mushrooms weren't cooked but didn't really notice. The eggs were cooked perfectly. My hot cocoa was amazing. The food came out super quick and piping hot. My friends loved their food as well!

I went for dinner and was seated right away. The place was clean and tidy, and the wait staff was prompt and friendly. I ordered the Hot Turkey Sandwich, and I must tell you; this really didn't have a lot of flavor at all. I had to use salt and pepper to make it edible. Honestly, I won't go back, I really was not impressed at all.

Food (3.7/5): got the hash and pancakes, both of which were good. Pancakes were nicely sized. Everything was reasonably priced. Service (4.5/5): got our food very quick and the waitress was friendlyAmbiance (4/5): classic diner, which is always dopeOverall (4/5): was it the most amazing breakfast food? No. Will I be going back if I want breakfast for dinner, if I'm drunk at 2am, or if hungover the next morning? 1000%.

Any review under 5 stars does not appreciate a delicious, classic breakfast diner. My wife and I had our first date here and years later we drive any distance for anniversaries, birthdays and more. Best place in MKE

We had yummy breakfast. I had a nice omelette and my husband had bacon and eggs.Our server was very friendly. Pleasant place to enjoy.

This restaurant discriminates. I came in today and wanted to sit near a window. It was not busy. I preferred a booth and wanted to enjoy an early lunch. They told me booths are for two people and not one person. This is not right. They discriminate if you are by yourself ? What kind of place does that. They had many empty tables and booths. They should have been happy to have my business. Especially since North Avenue has been closed.
