Love stopping here to kick off a night out. The owners are local and so nice. They make classic cocktails and always have a ton of local beers on tap. I also love stopping here to get some bar food! They make a delicious "Irish grilled cheese" and you can order pizzas as all. There's no real kitchen, so you can watch your food being made right in front of you. I think this is a great place to bring friends from out of town. There's no where else like it in town, especially with the live music on most weekends!

Don't get me wrong... it's a really attractive Irish- themed place and they usually have a couple respectable beers on tap. Because of that, they have a pretty loyal local following. My issue is with anything that characterizes them as a "restaurant". They're not. They have an electric frying pan on the back bar and you should expect a 30 minute wait on a simple sandwich. If you go with 2 or 3 other people, don't expect your meals to arrive at the same time. This is not a restaurant. They should just give up on the food thing and become a better bar.

It 11:30pm on. Sat night, I've been working 14hrs, I'm hungry...and what better way to quench my thirst and hunger than at an Irish Pub. This may not be Ireland but it damn good a small Wisconsin town in the U.S.They have a menu of about six sandwiches, a pasta, salad, garlic bread and one dessert. I don't know if this is the menu all the time or just late night. I had the Reuben and a Guinness draught, it was a solid sandwich with kettle chips and a pickle spear. The draught was a good solid pour. The service is nice and quick. The Kilkenny cream ale is also a good pour. The chocolate mascarpone cheesecake has a chocolate crumb crust, it's a nice light chocolate mouse like pie, its a bit sweet for me, but fine for a restaurant grade bulk dessert. It's a nice place, lots of room to move, good for large and small groups. I'll keep this on my short list for when I'm in the area again.

Beautiful bar and the owners are very nice. There's a big back room that can be rented for parties, etc. Their menu isn't very extensive, as it's whatever they can make in a commercial microwave. No actual kitchen. Sadly, beyond pouring beer and scotch, there isn't much knowledge about drinks. I'm in an IRISH Pub...they don't know how to make an IRISH coffee! I ordered one. It was Whiskey in Coffee. That was all. Umm... nooooooo..... that's NOT how to make an Irish Coffee! When I complained I was told that they didn't really know what I was talking about. They were also out of Guinness and Smithwicks. I'll give it 3 stars for being cute and having a comfy leather chair seating area toward the front.

Stopped in here the day before St. Patrick's Day (St. Patrick's Day fell on a Sunday this year) to enjoy some adult beverages and music. I understand that given the day the normal routine had been disrupted. We had to go into another part of the bar to order from a very limited menu; we ordered two small Shepard's pies. They seemed to be nothing more then yesterday's beef stew with a scoop of mashed potatoes on top. I have most definitely had better. The bar itself was nice but not an Irish bar. It was like any other bar with the addition of some Irish proverbs painted on the walls and a better selection of Irish beers. The place was missing the traditional "snug". If you have been to an Irish bar you will know that this is a small private room with in the bar. The band for the evening was not very good. They were suppose to start at 7:00 PM so we arrived early to assure we had a spot from which to enjoy the band. They started a half hour late, the sound was horrible, and they did not finish the first three songs started (due to the poor sound). When the sound issue was corrected the band attempted to sing an Irish song (Black Velvet Band) but started it in the 3rd verse completely skipping over the first two which set up the rest of the song. Now I don't hold the quality of the band against the pub, but you think they would try to get a top notch band for the festivities on an evening of St. Patrick's Day weekend. The place is worth a stop in just for the selection of beers and I will be going back to see what a normal day is like there.

Lyons is the best bar environment in Watertown. It caters more to the middle-aged professional crowd rather than the younger wild partiers. They refuse to blast obnoxious music which allows patrons to carry on normal conversation. The interior is beautiful and there are several parts of the bar to have a group of friends circle around. The food options are limited to grilled sandwiches from the bar's electric griddle. They are good, but definitely bit the draw here. They keep about 8 quality beers on tap (Irish beers, New Glarus, Goose Island).Jim and Carol are wonderful people who recognize you by your second time in the pub.I would prefer to give them 4.5 stars with a half stat deducted for the limited menu.

This place looked cozy & inviting so we stopped in for a beer and a bite to eat. The staff was not very nice. There is no kitchen so food is made very slowly at the bar on a small plug in griddle. It was a Friday night and the place was empty. Now I know why.
