We went to check out Luna's today hoping to buy tamales. Alas, no fresh tamales to be found (I thought they were supposed to be available in the weekends) but I did check out the rest of the store. Small store but lots of items packed in! Latino grocery. Notable for a big deli case with tons of meats and cheeses. Large selection of beans, rice, spices, tortillas, Jarritos and chips and such. Small produce area but everything they had was really fresh and not bruised. Small area of household cleaning items. Prices seemed quite good. Staff were friendly and all has masks on correctly when I was there and there was lots of cleaning going on. Several international phones available for calls. Small parking lot but also had very close street parking. Seems like a great addition to the neighborhood!

Luna's is the new "Neighborhood Grocery" store near the Allied/Dunn Marsh area, and that is perfect for the residents of this area, who don't drive, or can't make it to the closest grocery store, which is a few miles away. Luna's owners were intentional with their location and products. It is owned by people of Hispanic background, so it has all one would need. They have a butcher on staff, so they always have fresh cuts of everything. The store has all you need to prepare breakfast lunch or dinner. When I visited, I came looking for tamales, they only serve these on weekends. I came late on a Sunday and they only had Queso ones left. I bought them, and my family demolished them! The next week, I bought both chicken and pork, guacamole salsa and pico de gallo and tortilla chips and my family demolished them. Needless to say, WE LOVE THIS PLACE. There isn't much space right next to the building for parking, but there is an overflow area for parking. The store isn't that big but they will make a huge impression. If you haven't been there you've got to go...Sorry, I didn't get to take any pics, family ate everything before I could.

A friend and I stopped in on our way to a potluck looking for foods to bring and in short, let's say that we were not disappointed.Considering that Luna's is not particularly large in size, we were impressed by the variety of goods that were offered: house-made salsas, a solid alcohol selection, a butcher in house, and fresh produce, to name a few. Tamales are sold on Saturday's/Sunday's only, as a heads up.We left with the avocado salsa, chips, Modelo's, and a bag of pork tamales for the road. Y'ALL. This avocado salsa. I brought two containers of it and both were gone before the end of the potluck; I will be back for that alone. You can't buy this in any ol' grocery store. It's creamy, fresh, and spicy. We had biked to Luna's and ate our tamales before riding again, and those also hit the spot and were still warm at 4 in the afternoon (especially with some of the avocado salsa).Luna's aims to be your local corner store, and it has exceeded those goals. Not only a corner store, but a source of pride for fresh, authentic, and homemade goods. What a great local addition to the community!

I have patronized Luna's since they opened, mostly to buy their especially good guacamole salsa and pico de Gallo. Last time I went, the 3 employees had masks but 2 were below the nose and 1 was around the neck. I refuse to eat food prepared by people who are breathing on it at this point in our sad state of affairs. Very disappointed. They didn't seem to care when I mentioned the mask problem. Oh well...

My fraternity brother and his wife owns this grocery and though I may be biased, this store is needed in this area. It's one of those places where everyone knows each other, it's a neighborhood location and the owners make you feel like family. There is a diverse food selection that's not limited to Latin America; I saw Asian, West Indian and African food and an amazing display of hot sauces along with many salsas. I don't live in Madison, but I felt compelled to come to the store just to see how the store has progressed. They opened this year and it appears this place will become a staple in the neighborhood for the foreseeable future.

Today was my very first time walking inside the store and as soon as you take the first step inside it feels welcoming! The store is well lit, everything organized, and super clean. Although the grocery store feels a little empty they have everything you need and some. And it's not too far away from where I live, so I could easily walk at any time of the day. The staff there is welcoming and they have walking carts to facilitate your shopping there which is helpful compared to other Latin grocery stores around the area. Such a great and convenient place. I'd have to say I'm going to do most of my groceries there from now on!
