Lox Club

I looked back at my reviews and was surprised to see that I had never reviewed this place; despite going there on a fairly regular basis. I believe the current rating they have is about right (3.6). However, we know how Yelp scores, so I went with a 4 star review.This restaurant is an old school, Wisconsin supper club. It could probably use a little updating in regard to decoration, but it worries more about food and drink over ambiance.There is an expectation to put in your name for a table (although they do take reservations), grab a drink and look over the menu. While you are doing this, grab some deep fried bread, crackers, whipped cheeses and some pate. Once you get a drink or two in, the waitress will take your order and will direct you to the table. Personally, I've always found the bar staff and waitresses to be helpful and friendly. I typically get their ribeye. It is always done to order and almost always seasoned well. It might not be the best of all steaks but it is consistently good. I like mashed potatoes. They are good and the helping is generous. Their gravy tends to be hit-or-miss. My dining partner always gets a chicken and steak combo. It is very good. Both the aforementioned meals are about $32 each.On my last dining experience, a dining partner got their fish combo. The amount of fish provided was pathetic. If I received the tiny portion, I would have complained. My dining partner expressed disappointment but didn't say anything to our server.The restaurant has changed owners in the past year. Having eaten there before and after, I believe everything has stayed pretty much the same.After dinner, consider an ice cream drink or a pour of some of their high end bourbon. They have a good selection of each at reasonable prices.Despite some recent reviews, I'd tell you to decide for yourself. As for me, I won't hesitate to return.

Bad Experience! I am not in the habit of leaving poor reviews and only do so when truly deserving. If you are not a resident of the neighborhood, do not bother coming. You will not get served. Here is the problem with the flawed way of bilking money out of your customers. A patron comes in, but they are not immediately seated. Instead, they are asked to sit in the bar area with an invitation to purchase drinks with your name placed on a waiting list where you may or may not get called. Our experience was that we were never called.Someone is supposed to come and take your order after some predetermined amount of time after you've had a chance to purchase rounds of drinks from the bar. Unsure of the exact criteria, as there were many empty tables in the dining area, but presumably, there wasn't enough staff available to handle the amount of patrons. So we waited and waited for someone to come take our order and have us seated, but it never happened. After observing patrons arriving a significant amount of time after us and having their order taken and then being seated, I tried asking the bartender what was taking so long. Of course, the blame is now deflected elsewhere with astonishment that we were yet to be seated.We were told that the owner was notified of our situation, but no contact from said owner and no attempt made by anyone else to rectify the situation. After a forty-five minute wait, we left in disgust. Again, there were several empty tables that was noticed upon leaving. Unless you're a regular, don't even bother wasting your time.

We had a very nice time and everything was very well priced. It really makes you appreciate a good supper club. Everyone was super nice and welcoming. It really had a hometown feel. There was also some live polka music if that's what you like.

We love coming back here again and again. You MUST get here early on a Friday, like right when they open! It fills up fast! The bar is a great cozy place to sit and have complimentary snacks in the corner consisting of garlic toasts, breadsticks, cheese spread, liver pate, onion cream cheese and pretzels. Its an old fashioned supper club atmosphere, which we love. As you sit and have your snacks and drinks, a waitress will come to greet you and take your order. She will then return in a few minutes to tell you what table number you go to. Its a seamless process every single time. We love the waitstaff here, they are so welcoming and pleasant. Ordered the french onion soup, OH MY SO BEEFY!!!! Also ordered the tenderloin and baked potato and it was delish. Always a pleasant experience at Lox.

I came here with a date on a Saturday night around 6pm. I knew it was going to be good when the parking lot was already full and the bar area was even more packed. We took a seat at the bar and our drink orders were taken quickly while supper menus were dropped off. I ordered a whiskey sweet Old Fashioned and my date ordered a brandy sweet Old Fashioned. I am new to the Old Fashioned game but my date is not. She loved hers and Ioved mine. Our supper order was taken by the time we were done with our 1st drink.I went to grab some accoutrements from the relish bar. They had the usual spread of breads, crackers, pretzels and then cheese and patte spreads. The spreads were tasty and the breads/crackers had a lot of flavor.Our table was ready about 30ish mins after our order was placed and the hot food came out shortly after being sat and finishing our salads. I ordered the mini seafood platter and my date ordered the Tenderloin. My food was fantastic, the shrimp were seriously some of the best shrimp I have ever eaten. It made me regret not getting the shrimp platter instead, all the other fish and scallops were delicious as well but if I choked to death on the shrimp, I would have died a happy man. My date liked her tenderloin as well.The staff was amazing and all interactions were top notch. I also have to complement the rest of the guests. It was an older crowd (me and my date are in our 30s) and it was like eating dinner with our parents/grandparents. We made small talk with a few different groups and they were a pleasure to talk to. I will definitely be back to the Lox Club as much as I can.

This is the worst experience I have had in a long time. I was ok with waiting the 45 minutes to get our table but I was not ok waiting another 45 after our soup was delivered. Waitress didn't check on us and after we decided to leave she tried to justify the poor service by saying there was a large table she was serving even though we sat down prior to them.

Bar needs decor up dating,bathrooms also.dark in dining room cant see what your eating,salads are blah,had pot pie soup tasted blah no flavor,and crackers at bar for cheese spread were stale. Would i go back again NO!

We have eaten here in the past and the food was good. We brought family here from out of town for a Wisconsin super club experience and it was a disaster. The service was good, but the food was terrible. The bartender couldn't make a decent old fashion, the salmon special was terrible - the salmon was white not pink, and the fish fry was flavorless at best. I'm not sure what happened to this establishment, but don't eat here!

Came in early on a Friday, sat at the bar for over ten minutes waiting for any acknowledgment from the three women behind the bar. Got nothing. Folks came in after and were served. Felt blatantly ignored. We love trying different supper clubs when in WI and have never been treated this poorly anywhere else. Will not recommend or be back.

The food was awesome and everyone there was super nice and welcoming! I liked the layout and the menu variety.
