Lodi is a little town west of Madison and a few miles west of I-90 after a brief excursion through some corn country. Once in town, you're on Main Street USA, and that is where this meat market is located. Lodi Sausage is like a traditional butcher shop/deli that has since been replaced by much larger supermarkets in urban places. But here, it is still going strong.I came in for a mid-day visit while I was looking for a place to have lunch in Lodi. While I didn't find a casual lunch spot in town, I found a great place to buy meat and cheese. The shop is pretty small but has a great selection of fresh meats, sausages, cheeses and assorted jams. They make their own sausage too, so it's all fresh and not mass-produced. At the same time, it's not ridiculously priced like some boutique grocers would have you spend for "locally grown" stuff. The owner of the shop is from the Naperville, IL area, and it was a cosmic occurence when he was talking to 2 other people from the Chicago area just as I entered the shop.I found some uncooked brats to take back hom and grill up for dinner. I also got some apple cider jelly, though I could have bought any number of unusual jams, jellies and apple butter jars all made locally too. They got maple syrup and honey as well.Definitely a great place to visit and get a taste of Lodi's best.

Stopped here last Friday...we've driven by numerous times but never caught them open! It was similar to Knoches in that it felt like you were stepping back in time to a legitimate butcher shop! Super friendly staff who grabbed our selections and checked us out!So far we've had their bacon which is spectacular...you really taste a difference in hand-crafted smoked bacon! Their garlic and traditional summer sausage is also fantastic as are there jalapeño beef sticks. Overall this is a great small town quality butcher shop that we will definitely frequent when we can! I know that Metcalfes in Madison carries their bacon....buy it, you won't regret it!P.S. My husband has used them in the past for deer processing and said they were also great to deal with...I just haven't used them personally for this!

We ordered a ham for Easter and it was fabulous!!! So delicious, smoked nicely and tons of meat. The staff at Lodi Sausage are always pleasant and helpful. I ordered it late but the ham I received was so flavorful!! I even used the bone for soup. Every bit had flavor. Thank you for the wonderful meals!

You must stop in when passing though downtown Lodi. I don't leave many yelp reviews. Lodi sausage & meat Co, deserving of a 5-star review based on my purchase of a NY strip steak and a pinwheel steak today. This was my first visit. Service was great. Prices reasonable. And my dinner tonight off the backyard grill was amazing. The quality of beef was some of the best I've ever had in WI. One detail I'll share to illustrate why they're worth a stop- when selecting my NY strip, the butcher pulled the best cut from the case, without me having to point or say anything. Looking forward to stopping again.

I picked up venison sausage recently. This was the first time I had Lodi Sausage Co. process deer. It will by no means be the last time. The sausage is delicious. The Lodi staff is very helpful. The price I paid was very reasonable.

I ordered over $100 of meat and cheeses from Lodi Sausage and they sent it via the US post office. My order arrived 5 days after it was shipped. The box was marked with a sticker to keep it refrigerated, but the post office could not confirm if had been or not. I contacted the store twice, by email and phone, to voice my concern but could not get a reply back from them. I ended up throwing away $25 in bacon to avoid making my family sick. I'm hoping the smoked sausage and cheeses will at least be OK.

Only good things to say about about the quality of the meat and sausage. The hams they have for holidays are top quality as are the steaks. Really impressed as they are better than other markets in surrounding small towns.
