Liberty Hall Banquet and Conference Center

I have been here several times for various formals and dances associated with one group or another from Lawrence University. I have experienced two of the different rooms that are available to rent out there. PROS:-Sometimes, there's a wedding going on in the huge room while there's a formal, and people like to crash the open bar and/or make friends with the wedding guests. I'm not condoning it, but just saying...-Drinks prices are reasonable. -One of the rooms has a very decent dancing space. CONS:-At one of the dances, there were light appetizers kept warm by heaters. It was so-so at best. To be fair, I don't know how long they had been sitting out, but they didn't look or taste that appetizing. -Not every dance floor is created equal. In one of the rooms available, the dancing space is VERY small and there are lights located right above the dance floor. The tables are situated all around this tiny dance floor, thus creating a rather uncomfortable, self-conscious dancing experience. The spot light is on and everyone is watching. I've never personally organized a dance here, so I can't speak to the prices to rent a space here or for what the customer service is like. As far as venues go, this is a pretty solid place to have in the Fox Valley, despite some shortcomings.

Food was not impressed it sat out to long dried out wont be back for two people it was 37.50 we could have a better meal for less going else where sat at the table waiting 25 minutes for our bill I always leave a tip today was the first time I didn't tip my hats off to the two girls that were trying to locate our waitress for the bill might have closed the place down without their help

We just had wedding here in Sept 2013. Food fantasic! Place wonderful,Office girls are awesome. Owner very slow to call you back and doesn't communicate well with other employees. Can tell they cared more about the big room then our room. Totally went against the bride and her family on serving of alcohol. But, they want their money! Kitchen staff manager awesome! wait staff mostly good, except one. They all moved at turtle pace. I think the biggest disappointment for us was that the owner seems unorganized, didn't follow what we asked. And when I asked for the card box that was suppose to be out. He said you needed one and then went to his office to see if it was written out, then said to me, yep you were suppose to have one, it's even written in my own hand writing. Wow! Care about everyone, cuz we are all paying clients!
