Lago Su Bella

Happy New Year's Eve! We 6 had reservations for 7:00 on NYE and started the evening at the bar as our table was prepped. The tenders were working incredibly hard and well and seemed to have their dance going at all times. Very well done! Being seated at our table, we were greeted by our server, Sondra, who was a hoot! She was efficient, knowledgeable and had a sense of humor that was just the right touch. Appetizers: the bruschetta was piled high with tomato, and the calamari was crispy and done perfectly. The special menu was interesting, and all six of us ordered something different from the special and regular menu, and not one of us was disappointed. The noise level was not an issue for conversations, and the bussers were efficient, even when a glass of water took out one of our table covers. The parking right outside the front door is limited but there is parking across the street with a short 1/2 block walk. The entire restaurant has accessibility. The windows overlook the lake and in the warmer weather, I am sure the view is incredible.I always think a NYE dinner will be less than great since I regularly had so-so meals at higher prices. Not tonight - we plan to come back again, especially on NYE for another wonderful experience.

What a wonderful experience once again! Service is impeccable and the food options exquisite. Every dish was spot on. Perfect delicious.

Best Italian restaurant in lake country. Hands down. I love dining here and every time it's a wonderful experience. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is sophisticated and comfortable. And the location is perfect with beautiful views on the lake. But the food is too notch! My favorite appetizer is the truffle burrata bruschetta. It's a perfect blend of flavors and textures. For entrees I always love the truffle ravioli and the scallops.

While I was in town last week, friends suggested this place for our last dinner and it didn't disappoint!We walked in and were warmly greeted and shown to a table up front (we were a large party) Being seated by the bar had an advantage as our drinks came up quickly and were definitely well poured. While I didn't walk toward the back of the restaurant, the atmosphere seems "clubby" and maybe a little more upscale away from the bar area.We had a range of food and all of it was good. In fact, people devoured their food so quickly, I was only able to get a picture of all the desserts they brought out!From a fish standpoint, people in our group raved about the salmon and the scallops. For the meat eaters- the pork chop and the lamb were the winners. I had the Frutti de mare pasta which was very good with shrimp, scallops mussels and calamari. As for those desserts, we had cannolis (my fav) cheesecake, tiramisu, creme brule and an Italian donut with chocolate (I'm sure that has a much better name) but it doesn't matter as it was really delicious!Service was on point and I"d encourage you to make a reservation as the place was packed on this Sunday night. Parking is limited but there is a huge lot across the street.All in all a lovely evening out in Oconomowoc!

The food here NEVER disappoints!!! #1 favorite dish would be the Mussels Appetizer but you can't go wrong with any of the food! Beautiful restaurant, beautiful view, delicious food and great service!

First off, it wasn't the food that brought me here. It was the ambiance. Lago Su Bella is situated right beside a beautiful stretch of lake. The views are splendid. The people working there were absolutely kind and attentive. So, my family was jazzed to get out of town and go have a lovely meal out. So we drove 30 minutes west to check out their Italian fare. Those who know me know that I often cite my 4 years living in Piemonte in Torino as some sort of indication that my bar is high when it comes to Italian cuisine. Yes, it is. However, I usually walk into a situation like this with the expectations to be lower. In fact, most Italian restaurants I've dined in outside of Italy are meh at best. Lago Su Bella was rather tasty. We had the eggplant parmigiana to start. It was made correctly and was a solid 7/10. Then we got the Margherita flat bread. It was a bit on the over olive oiled spectrum, but overall tasty. My wife had the black truffle, mushroom ravioli in cream sauce. I found the pasta to be slightly post al dente and zero trace of black truffle flavor, but pleasant. It was a tad heavy on the cream therefore making any flavors from inside the ravioli irrelevant. I had the gnocchi in a gorgonzola cream sauce. The cream was also overwhelming vs. the gnocchi, which was soft but sort of watery. For Wisconsin, this is an 8 out of 10. We walked away full and happy. And, again the place is gorgeous. It really was a terrific experience.

Six of us dined at Lago Su Bella on Friday evening , January 3rd. I had the Lobster Bisque and the Red Snapper which was one of the specials. Both were outstanding as was the Citrus Cheesecake we ordered for dessert. My wife ordered the Chicken Picata and this also was delicious. If you want excellent Italian , Lago Su Bella is the place. The food, atmosphere, and attention to detail are top notch! We will be backPete

We were early for our reservation and they accomodated us... but we chose to sit at the bar. Service and food was excellent, on the high end, nice restaurant with nice view of the lake without breaking the bank. I wasn't aware that they opened up early but on Sat they do open up at 3pm/3:30 so nice upscale bar to sit at.

One of my favorite restaurants and I have been to every nice place in SE Wisconsin. You probably know how tough it is to find good gnocchi, but not here, it's amazing

Great food!!! Still deciding if we will return. The service was 1 star at best, this includes waitress and bar manager. Slight question regarding an item delivered to our table, and felt interrogated by the waitress/bar manager. This is AT our table. So uncomfortable, not to mention this interrupts our dining experience. We were polite, it was insinuated that we wanted something free, which is hilarious after ordering some fine menu/ beverage items. I would venture to guess that many guests dining here are not seeking a "free" item. When we first arrived asking waitress if she recommends XYZ, she responded,,, "I haven't tried that because I don't like XYZ". I understand being new at the job, but this seemed to be an experienced waitress. Perhaps say, "I have not tried that, but many do seem to enjoy". My experience was 5 star with food and zero star with service. When you make a decision to go out, food and service at this caliber of restaurant are both important.
