Kyoto

This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants! They have great Sunday lunch deals and their bento boxes provide huge portions with a variety of different options!I've been to Koyot 15+ times and service has always been great! For ambience, the restaurant has a japanese theme and the chairs are comfy. This is a real outlet mall gem!

Update: They created a waiting area in the front, so easily 5 stars now! Keep up the great work, Kyoto!

I have eaten at Kyoto dozens of times and have never had any issues. I have eaten at many sushi restaurants in the Milwaukee area. There are several good ones, but Kyoto is my favorite! The sushi is fresh and there are many options. The all-you-can-eat option on Mondays and Tuesdays is probably my favorite! They added on within the last year and took over the next section to them in their strip mall. They put in a bar with a couple of tvs with nice bar stools. The servers are all very friendly and give great service. Great place to meet friends or to take a date!

I've been coming here for about 18 years and am not sure what has happened to my once favorite place? Service has really gone down the tubes. We couldn't find our waitress for most of the meal. They expanded the dining room but it was the quietest I've ever heard it during lunch. We always sub an eel and avocado roll for our roll. Normally it's a dollar. The waitress was going to charge us $3. What once was an affordable lunch is now up to &45. For that price we can go to AYCE.

So far the food has been really good both times we ordered it, sushi and Chinese. I can't speak the the atmosphere or service since we ordered from GrubHub. However we will order from them again.

Date of visit: March 30, 2024A friend took us here for dinner as she had raved about it on a visit a couple weeks prior. She warned us that it was very unassuming and not fancy being in a strip mall but that wasn't an issue for us at all; the bigger issue is that we weren't huge fans of the food.Service was very good, staff came by frequently to ensure that we had what we needed, though I would have appreciated a more proactive approach to clearing dirty plates and dishes. Speaking of the dishes, they were quite nice, adorned with the restaurant's name and logo, a nice touch that I would not have expected from such an establishment.Turning to the food, the miso soup was nothing to write home about. It certainly wasn't bad, but it also wasn't the least bit memorable. I also was a bit underwhelmed by the green tea (both of these items made my nostalgic for the Yen Ching of old!) that they served. I am a big fan of crab rangoon but they put onions in it here, which was odd and disconcerting, I have never experienced this. Scallions, of course, but not plain onions. Thumbs down on that one.A highlight was the Orange Chicken! A wonderful, crispy shell protected a moist, succulent chicken breast that was good the first night and nearly as tasty a couple days later for lunch!

Lots of great food options. They expanded so there is more seating. My son is a bit picky and he loves the orange chicken box option. Great deals on sushi. Friendly staff!

We live up north in Hazelhurst and everytime we drive to Milwaukee to visit relatives we take them to Kyoto. Don't let the strip mall location near Southridge fool you...the ambiance and service is second to none and the food is arguably the best Milwaukee has to offer for Japanese cuisine.

Great food and service! Perfect date night spot for sushi. We were seated immediately and took a little bit to go through their expansive menu. We finally decided on a few rolls and shrimp pad thai. All of it was amazing! If you like deep fried rolls, the crunchy California is one of the best rolls I've had. The pad thai was also soooo good. Will definitely be back!

Been coming here for years and its always 10/10.I wanted to post a pic of the jalapeno shrimp since there was none on here - Its amazing!!
