Kurt Schulz Delicatessen and Pastry Shoppe

After a friend brought sandwiches for a group from Kurt Schulz Deli and we like them, I tried them for lunch. Easy order to place online. Pick up was perfect and as promised in timing. The staff was friendly and kind. The food was DELICIOUS. The Rachel (reuben with turkey rather than pastrami) was PERFECTION. Balanced and pressed and melty and just exactly what I wanted. We ordered a roast beef sandwich and the bread was soft, the sandwich tasty, and I would gladly order again and again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Date of visit: February 22, 2025I needed a place that was open pretty early after picking my mom up from a sleep study in Mequon and Kurt Schulz deli appeared to be a popular option with my fellow Yelpers. While I can see why in terms of the customer service and cozy atmosphere, I left pretty underwhelmed by my food.The breakfast menu is not extensive, but that's okay; they hit most of the highlights and also included one of my faves: Biscuits and Gravy. Sadly this was not a hit as the gravy really had no flavor at all. The biscuits were fair but frankly could not save the dish. The portion was very generous but I only ate about half of it because I could not imagine it somehow gaining flavor as a leftover.However my vanilla mocha was pretty tasty and I snagged a bite of my husband's monster cookie and that was quite good. Lesson learned here: Come for the coffee and baked goods only!

What a treat this place is. Fantastic fresh made sandwiches and awesome homemade pastries and deserts. Had the chance to just sit and talk with the owner Brian for a bit and hear his story. What a genuine person. Pretty cool you get to work with your daughter everyday.

My all-time FAV roast beef. Many other fantastic homemade sides, salads, meats.Outstanding fresh bakery. Old school - independent proprietor has held onto longstanding traditions.I made these sandwiches for Mom and me when I got home - delightful!!Typically, roast beef is far more rare (pink) but I got there late,.. was probably at the end of the roast. Still delicious!!

You will definitely want to try the humongous frosted Butterhorns and the Bienenstich coffee cake, filled with custard and topped with crunchy almonds.

Never been to this deli before, I meeting a friend and the food was fabulous. You order at the deli counter and you can take it to go or sit in the quaint area on the other side. I had the Cuban, which was the special for Friday and it was fabulous, my friend had the pastrami sandwich, and said it was very tasty. We also tried their broccoli soup I normally have broccoli and cheddar. It was a bit different taste for me however after I tried a few bites I really enjoyed it. The customer service was great all the staff was enjoyable to be around. I also had a caramel latte there, which was very yummy! Definitely a quaint little deli to put on list to try.

Wednesday is Sub Day!!! Been wanting to try this for awhile and finally made it in for lunch. I ordered the roast beef sub with everything on it(cheese, lettuce tomato, salami, mayo, and dressing) That fresh roll is really what makes the sub! Fantastic sandwich. I also got a side of broccoli and bacon salad(I get it at most deli places, its kind of a standard recipe) I noticed KS's broccoli salad had huge hunks of crispy bacon vs the soggy bacon bits you tend to find in salads. I feel like my pics speak for themselves.

Great little neighborhood deli. Food was good, cranberry oatmeal bar was excellent and the service & friendliness of staff was great!

Kurt Schulz Deli catered a grill-out party for 150 people in my backyard. They rescued me with only 11 days' notice after my previous caterer flaked. The owner Brian was a pleasure to work with in planning the menu. The staff arrived early to setup and grill, and they were kind and professional. Everyone raved about the delicious food. Excellent experience all around and highly recommended!

As previous reviews state, this is a gem! The staff and owner are so nice. Our second time coming, as we are from Illinois! We were in Wisconsin for another reason but if we are nearby we will always stop! First time was for coffee and sweets, this time had the turkey sandwiches. Big portions, reasonably priced. Pasta and potato salad yummy as well. Love this place
