We've been there twice in a couple weeks and have decided to become regulars! Both times: GREAT food, clean & very friendly staff. It was also busy each time. It's a family-style diner, with pride in their meals. We got a cinnamon roll each time. They go fast, really tasty. They are good-sized but not enormous. Just right for one person. They are generous with the cream cheese icing, I used it as frosting on my waffle when my Husband got his and didn't want it all. Yum! Coffee was good, my waffle, bacon & eggs were, too. The Husband enjoyed the Reyes plate with green chiles & eggs, best he's had in Wisconsin. They are under new ownership & are busting their butts to make you a really great meal. Good news: it's working! Hope to see you there, we'll be back later this week

I stopped here for breakfast on my way out of town for dinner with friends so I left early to explore small towns on the way and check out a couple meat shops in the area. It's in a strip mall which can be hit or miss and this was hit because besides the counter all I but 2 tables were taken so it was packed and people eventually filled the lunch counter. The place is the small town sophisticated country charm as not to look divy with lunch counter, booths and tables. I sat in the small back room with my server on her first day who did a great job. The menu isn't Greek phone book but small town just right. I ordered the 1/2 biscuits and gravy with two sunny side eggs and two sausage patties which were not on the menu but she was a big girl today and said I can make that happen, no hassles about no substitutions. My food came quickly and looked but good but I could see that the thin sausage patties looked Sarah dessert dry on arrival. My eggs were cooked perfectly and tasty. The sausage patties were in fact super dry with a mild sausage flavor. The biscuits and gravy was slightly better than average with thick creamy grave that was plentiful with a little sausage in it. The biscuits were average lacking that tartness of buttermilk which in my opinion screams breakfast.

I've eaten here probably 5 times, great local feel and good food. Fast service, fair prices. That checks about every box for me.

First visit to the Kosy Nuk in Cottage Grove Wisconsin (formerly Sonny's Cafe). I was very pleased with the new decor and vibe of the Kozy Nuk . It truly is a cozy little nook tucked away in a mini stip mall as you enter Cottage Grove. Friendly attentive staff greet and attend to your needs. The menu is extensive with lots of choices and options for even the most discerning dinner. The daily specials are clearly displayed on the chalk board wallsI opted for the Pettie (Garden) Omelet Special . It came with a just right senior sized omelette, choice of hash browns or american fries, toast or a pancake ... AND a choice of a drink. All for $7.99!The food arrived promptly fresh from the griddle and was beautifully presented (as the picture will attest)Everything was delicious and the service was exceptional. I would highly recommend the Kozy Nuk to family and friends. But don't take my word for it... Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a positive dining experience of own!

This cafe replaced Sonny's café. We were not disappointed! They still have similar menu items so we can find something for everyone. The prices are still very reasonable. The cafe has been almost totally remodeled and looks very nice. It is also very clean. The staff are friendly and attentive... My coffee never ran out.

First visit to this place for brunch! I was impressed with the decor and coziness. I loved the dark colored walls and gold accents. It is a seat yourself and our server was friendly. The menu has a variety of savory or sweet breakfast options, sandwiches, wraps, or entrees for lunch. I ordered the veggie omelet, added hash browns, and a side of sausage links. I want to try a sandwich option sometime! This is a cozy spot with classic well made food!

Had late breakfast- the food was excellent as was the service. Strip mall diner which doesn't look like much from outside but nicely decorated inside. We had chicken fried steak and a skillet. Plus a cinnamon roll make sure you start or end with that!

Have eaten breakfast here a couple of times and it has been excellent! I think they use quality ingredients and even a piece of toast is like homemade bread with thick slices. The coffee is super good too. Looking forward to trying lunch some time. Extensive menu including steaks, some Mexican food and a full service bar. Very clean...friendly wait staff.
