I drove past this several times and assumed it was just a corner store/small grocer, until I noticed the sign for sandwich specials. I went it for the $3.99 lunch special, which was over by the time I got there. However they have an extremely large variety of sandwiches, many with funny names, most of which seem to be variations on common sandwiches with extra toppings. The names and the variety and the minute differences do make it hard to choose a sandwich, I eventually settled on on what appeared to be a variation of an Italian panini. The ingredients were good, and fresh, with plenty of meat. It was about normal sandwich size. It appears they just used regular sliced bread in a panini press. The extra ingredients in this case were sliced raw peppers, which seemed odd, but I wanted to try the sandwich as it came. They didnt make sense to me as an extra ingredient. It did seem like a small sandwich for the $8 price tag.Looking around, it at first appears to be your average small grocery store with a deli counter but there are lots of interesting details. There are recliners and lounge chairs to relax in while waiting for your food. There is a moose head. There is lots of quirky decor mixed in with circa 1960s corner store lights and shelving-- personally I prefer the retro, non-remodeled feel, compared to the rebuilt gentrified stores elsewhere.I didnt look at any of the grocery items, but there were some snacks at the register that caught my eye. The prices seemed a little steep and I didnt need them so I opted against.I dont know if I'd go out of my way for any of their sandwiches, especially at the price point. I'll have to try more and see if there's one that's magic. The one I tried was good, but not magic, and $8 for a normal sized sandwich. But still, this is way better than your average corner store grocer and I bet it's a gem if you live nearby.

Koppa's has improved quite a bit in the last year. Yes, the shelves are often more bare than full, but at least they have milk regularly. The number of expired or moldy products has also decreased. I hear the deli is open once again, but I have not tried it. The sandwiches were always dynamite but some are push $8 and that seems really expensive. They do run pie specials a few times a year which are totally worth it! The hours have been more consistent and there are fewer employees on 20+ minute Facetimes when they should be checking people out.

Look I'm a eastside baddie so I go to Koppa to get all my daily needs and if I get off work early enough I go in for a quick bottle of wine or beers. The girls are so friendly I think and it's very convenient to us locals. I just wish the deli was better but overall I love our little shop.

It's gone downhill since it was sold awhile ago. Very unfortunate because it used to be a good place for reasonably priced and good sandwiches and deli. Too bad.Koppa 's Fulbeli DeliDeli Sandwiches

I will be honest, I have had them bookmarked for a long time, dined a few doors down and driven by them many times but I have never stopped because the sandwich pictures look like the have very little meat on them but I'm changing that today. I don't get to the east side often because I hate the parking situation and I hate even more that the east side has so many great places crammed in it.The place looks like an old school neighborhood grocery store that has been on the corner for a long time. As you walk in there is a small ghetto looking seating area to the left with writing all over the cubicle walls separating it from the store. The store it self is small with limited variety of the basics like produce, frozen, dry, deli, liquor, can, paper products etc etc. The old school 2 player video game station was cool but I can't imagine anyone today playing 40 year old technology on a 12 inch tube tv today, that time is long gone. The taxidermy animals/decor is unique which makes the place a neighborhood cult classic I imagine. The sandwich's come from the deli in the back but none of them appealed to me until I saw the panini menu with the Dittlecus panini. The Dittlecus panini is hard salami, smoked ham, provolone cheese, red onion, green peppers, mayo, Italian herbs/oil on whole grain Italian bread. I was handed a nice deli white paper package that was marked $6.49, for $6.49 it was bigger and weightier than I expected. The whole grain bread was a great choice because it held up to all that meaty melty cheese/saucy goodness, this was a tasty comfort food sandwich if there is such a thing. Toasted bread holding all that cheesey meaty panini was way better than the posted pictures of the other sandwich's and had I saw this earlier I would have got in sooner.Bottom line is that I was pleasantly surprised with my comfort food lunch panini because it was good quality and not skimpy at all which was very satisfying, I can't speak for the sandwiches but I would definitely go back and try more of the menu.

Paid nearly $6 for yogurt covered raisins and it ended up being yogurt covered nuts! If someone had a peanut allergy they could of died! (The yogurt covered nuts tasted good though I won't cap, a little to salty tho but good)

Good deli, great sandwiches, lost a bit of flair since new owners took over. Still has videogames and good food but not same koppas vibe from yesteryears.

Koppa's is a great little corner store to stop by if you need something and don't want to drive to a regular grocery store. There is no parking lot and sometimes street parking can be tricky in this area. They have a good selection of wine, beer and spirits. Grocery and pantry items are a little overpriced (what you'd expect) but in a pinch you pay for convenience. There's a deli counter in the back where you can order meat or vegetarian sandwiches. It's been a really long time since I had one so I can't review the food but something about the deli case gives me the creeps. On one occasion, I saw moldy cheese in the refrigerated section so I don't trust that they rotate stock everyday. If they did, someone would have noticed that. So be sure to check expiration dates and check for mold on the produce. Once we were in on a humid day, all of the beer cooler doors were foggy. The condensation dripped onto the floor creating a large puddle and my boyfriend almost slipped. Beware if you're there on a hot day!Overall I like that Koppa's is a short walk from my house and it's convenient. I think after the ownership changed some things have fallen to the wayside but it's still Koppa's and hopefully won't be going anywhere!

Have you stopped in to have some of the best sandwiches in the world? If you haven't, what are you waiting for? All of them are delicious. You may be thinking, you probably haven't tried them all, but I'm pretty sure I have. Koppa's is a neighborhood dream. From the banana tree, to the taxidermy and Jesus tributes scattered around, this place is a true jem. I come here for an occasional sandwich, ice cream fix and alcohol run. They have a great selection of beers and liquors. I feel the prices are fair for a corner store and the staff is always friendly! They are fully stocked with essential produce -- some of it doesn't always look the best, but it gets the job done if you are in a bind. Also make sure to check expiration dates in here as well!

Walked in to grab a to-go sandwich today and saw they were moldy. Not like a spot of mold on the bread, but big patches of blue mold on the cheese slides. The produce nearby was in rough shape, too. Not sure how often the food is being pulled and replaced. With the sandwich counter reopening, I hoped things were going to improve. The shelves are pretty bare and what they do have is limited and over priced. It's less grocery/demi more alcohol and tobacco products now. Really miss the old setup.
