Great food, this place has been around for a long time and I feel like it's been forgotten a little. I love going here when I go downtown. Looks unassuming but once you go inside it looks much more welcoming. Staff was helpful and fast.For appetizer we ordered the crispy squid. It was the right crispiness. The presentation was a littlelackluster with one lettuce leaf taking up a third of the rectangular plate, but the flavor was pretty good I ordered the duck pineapple curry and it was so good. Don't judge a book by its cover, all their food so very tasty.The cleanlinessOf the restaurant could use some improvement. A little detailI'm looking at some litter and under the cushioned seats go a long way for making a guest feel comfortable and sanitary.Overall great experience, butCould use some improvements in some areas. Food is very tasty, presentation was alright.

Overall a nice experience. Traveled to MKE for work and went out to dinner with a few people from work. Parking can be a little challenging but can be found. After 6pm, I think, street parking is free. We shared an order of spring rolls. A few beers and my volcano chicken was pretty tasty. One member of our team had a struggle getting a non-alcholic drink as the restaurant didn't have juice. This is a pretty big place. Service was great. Great dinner.

I recently ordered delivery from the King & I Restaurant to satisfy my Thai food cravings. It was my first time trying their food, and I was impressed with the fast delivery and the overall quality of the dishes. Here's what I ordered and my thoughts:-Crab Rangoons: These had a fresh crab filling, but there wasn't much inside, and the outer shell was a bit tough. They weren't stale, but the texture made them a bit difficult to eat. It might have been better if I dined in rather than opting for delivery.-Pud Thai with Chicken: Their version of Pad Thai was delightful. The noodles were fresh, and the combination of ingredients worked well together. I chose a 2.5-star spice level but could have easily gone for a 3-star. The spice level was perfect for me, providing just the right amount of kick without being overwhelming.-Tom Kha Coconut Soup: This was my favorite part of the meal. The soup had a rich and authentic flavor, and the portion size was just right. I didn't add any spice initially but ordered a side of hot sauce and added it to the soup, which enhanced the flavor nicely. Next time, I would opt for a bit of spice from the start.Overall, King & I Restaurant delivered a satisfying Thai food experience. While I might skip the crab rangoons next time, the Pud Thai and Tom Kha Coconut Soup were definite winners. If you're looking for good Thai food delivered to your door, King & I Restaurant is a solid choice.

This place is such a staple of Milwaukee, at least in my eyes. Recently moved back here & was so glad to see it's still open. And it was not crowded at all on a Saturday night so am extra pleased to see they remain open! We shared veggie tempura & the drunken noodles with tofu. The tempura was so light, in like a beer batter - probably some of the best I've had! We ordered the dish medium level for spice, and I could barely handle it whereas my partner had no problem. Realized after the fact tho that it probably wasn't as evenly distributed as we had thought. Still, it was a very enjoyable beer. I also tried a local n/a beer recommended by the waiter that was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back!

so so good!!! great service, super quick! got crab rangoon's, mango curry, green curry, pud tai, volcano chicken and some other things I don't remember but everything was delicious!! the ambiance was also super cool, loved all the smells and sights of seeing the chefs! would recxomend to anyone! super fresh and delicious, my sister said it was one of the best thai places she's ever gone to! :)

Ordered the Panang Curry & "Drunk Man" drunken noodles. Food wasn't outstanding. Veggies were mushy and overcooked. Chicken was dry and tough. Color for both dishes was interestingly dull. It was takeout, so there wasn't much else to go off of. Upside - I'm 95% sure the rangoons had real crab in them and the spice level was great.

How have I not already reviewed The King and I?! I'm completely off of my Yelp game! I need supervision! This is some of the very best Thai in Milwaukee. Hands down. And, the best Pad Thai in Milwaukee, no contest. It's so good! The King and I menu has a lot of variety and there are many dishes with vegetables for the herbivores. I'm gluten intolerant and especially appreciate that The King and I had gluten free designations on their menu. And their lunch buffet! To die for!

I've been to Milwaukee a few times and I always make an effort to come this restaurant. Amazing food and the staff are very nice. It's definitely a nice little Thai restaurant. It's hard to go wrong with the food they have here. If you ever find yourself in Milwaukee, this is the place to be.

Dining in is the quaint authentic Thai experience you are looking for. Food is great, service and recommendations on point. Would not carry out, it's not the same quality

The service was the worst. The waiter treated us with no respect and was in a huge rush for us to order. We were a party of 12 people and the waiter gave us no time to communicate with each other and discuss what we want to share with each other. There was no smile on anyone's face. The food was very greasy and not up to par with expectations for the restaurant.
