Karlsbad Tavern

It might look a little seedy from the outside, but clean and well loved on the inside. I have a small handful of favorite burger joints but this place made the list! A perfectly cooked hand made pattie was tender and delicious, no grisly bits and the onion rings were pretty perfect... I would go out of my way to come here.

We have rolled up here on motorcycles a few times. The sign out front says GREAT FOOD LOUSY SERVICE but both are pretty darn good. Friendly atmosphere, good prices, nice bar. Heading for the restroom and can't decide? The choices are BUSHES and TREES. Funny stuff.

Very polite servers. Bathrooms were clean. Some bar food. I liked the cold drink and hospitality. Here for a car show.

This is a small town bar that has a lot to offer and worth tying. I have come here a few times and never disappointed. You may have to wait a while for a table cause they do get busy. We brought some friends here for the Friday fish fry. To our surprise it was not packed and we sat right down. You can order your fish baked or fried or combo. Baked takes longer so you will have to wait, but then good things come to all those that wait. I had the cajun potato salad as one of my sides..... Mmmmm good. It's made to order which makes it better.I am a fan of this place and will be back. If you are going to have a beer from the tap make sure you ask for the frozen mug as the regular beer glass is small.

They have good food, but, if you have a large group, forget it! We even called ahead as requested and were still sitting here over an hour later waiting. Never again, never. Signed, pissed and hungry!

New interior/exterior, thought we would give it a shot. Fish fry Friday! How can you go wrong ?Churn the deep fried fish and fries out & make everyone happy.....not so much.Slow service, mediocre fish, slow service & slow service.

The soup and salad was a great deal! The fish fry was good but the other items on the Menu are overpriced considering the area and quality of food. The Italian beef was Lower than average tasting. I will stick to the soup/salad and fish.

I enjoyed my lunch stop in Genoa, IL as I was driving for work today. Carl at the bar was a busy man and warmed up slowly. Don't expect to rush through this place...it isn't designed to operate that way. I had something unique to here- a fried Cajun potato salad that was incredibly delicious. The Reuben was great and fries were fresh cut and made well. The wings are amazing!! On my top 5 now -number 1 is still Truman's in St. Louis by AB. Eat at Karlsbad Tavern! They take CC. If you're outgoing, this shouldbe a sure thing.

Stopped here for lunch on the last leg of a road trip for a home town visit. Great food, friendly conversation, and cold beer. Highly recommend!

This tavern has overall really good food, except their fries are very undercooked. I had family who worked in the back for a bit; they said that while cooking fries, they throw in chopped potatoes for only 2-3 minutes before taking them out to serve. Otherwise, this place has great food!
