Julios Mexican Restaurant

Everything here tastes fresh and homemade. The red and green salsas were the best I've ever had, different than anywhere else. All of the tacos were in the bigger side so 3-4 will fill you up. We had the chilie relleno tacos, tasted like they had just made them that day. Steak tacos were really nice, the meat was lean and didn't have chunks of fat like other places do. Al pastor taco was good, as well as the tripa. The torta was huge and delicious. The staff were just as great as the food. They were very friendly and helpful. We came in on a Friday night to order some take out and they had karaoke. Everyone looked like they were having a lot of fun. The drinks looked great so next time we will eat there so we can try the margaritas. I highly recommend this place. I can't wait to go back again! 10/10

I came for lunch with my daughter, it was mid afternoon. I saw a man behind the counter who came out to greet us, and I asked him,"Are you Julio?" he said yes, so I told him about his good reviews on Yelp. This was on a day with single digit temps so we were the only customers. The decor of the place was bright, cheerful and inviting. There were maybe 20-25 tables and a small bar in the back. They were located right on the main shopping area in Round Lake Park.My daughter ordered a fancy strawberry margarita which came piled high with pink Strawberry frozen mush in a salted frosted glass . She said it was delicious. We both ordered taco dinners with a variety of meats and shrimp tacos and they came with beans and rice, everything delicious and done perfectly. Julio checked with us if we wanted cilantro in our tacos and we both said yes. The tortillas were double, soft and made just right as were the ingredients.We sat for a long time eating and visiting, and had a lovely time. Couldn't have been better! The bill was about $40 before the tip. We'll be back. This place was only a mile or so from where I live so it is very convenient and easy to find with their bright yellow storefront. We were able to park right in front of the door.

Great service by waitress. Super nice and sweet. Food was quick and will be revisiting.

I was very impressed with this placed and returned with my family and was not disappointed. This is very authentic cuisine - flavoring was on point with every item on the menu so far. I didn't see a trompo but the al pastor was outstanding. This restaurant also features a full bar for those who are interested. The prices are very reasonable and service was excellent. Highly recommended.

I like Julio's. Owner is a friendly guy who used to work for the Bears in Lake Forest. His restaurant is small but lively. The White Pozole is excellent. The tacos are solid and he makes a thicker unique green and orange/red sauce. Good margaritas too!

The best authentic Mexican food you've ever had! Amazing service friendly servers. Outdoor seating is small but nice! We enjoy it some evenings in summer. Fresh ingredients! Phenomenal taste. Games and gambling in a small section inside.

Really enjoyed our food from here. Very authentic dishes. Pozole both red and green available..even saw Blanco as an open! Staff was attentive and hard working. My strawberry margarita was delicious (and eye pleasing!). We order often from door dash as well. We most recently stopped here on Christmas Day..was shocked and appreciative they were open.

Good food and friendly, helpful service. Beef quesadilla was superb. Can't wait to try other menu items.

The location isn't Michigan Avenue, but the food could compete with any restaurant on the street. It's authentic and flavorful. The pork tacos are perfect and will have you craving to come back. Save a little room and grab dessert at the bakery a few doors down.
