Horrible first impression. The audacity at charging extra for pizza sauce (which very few other places in the area do), having a cripplingly inexperienced person manning the phones on a Friday night and not even taking my address down correctly, resulting in our order being returned to the store multiple times, and the pizza wasn't prepared correctly, despite indicating multiple times how I wanted it. We won't be back.

Foos is great!!!!!!! All cooked from scratch. Luxury meals or Burgers and pizza. All excellent. Daily specials and soups. Owner awesome. Service excellent.

We ordered carry out from here a few times, food was always really great. We did dine in for the first time, the service was great, the food was even better. The women working the bar and the tables was super friendly and we love the overall vibe of the restaurant itself. I find it cozy and a sweet little spot to eat. :)

Iv been here for my third time, I had the grilled calamari it melted in my mouth.We also had the artichokes in red sauce and the shrimp in a creamy white sauce all for appetizers. I had the broiled pork chop dinner with sautéed spinach and some broccoli. Yum . My friends had braciole made with hamburger and bacon with a red sauce and rotini noodles they said it was scrumptious.our other friend had a special with mussels and shrimp and pasta he loved it. They ordered a special banana desert with whip cream. I was watching them eat it they couldn't get it in fast enough. They loved it.Our waitress remembered us from the last time we were here.i asked her if I could have the broccoli instead of the potatoes she said I'm sure.The owner came out and said what ever I want he'll make it or switch it out if I want.I can tell you he has all the sauces down one is better than the next.You can't ask for any better service than that. Johnny's Cafe is a small place, we didn't have a problem getting in.I don't think a lot of people know about this place. I think the people think it's just pizza and sandwiches.

What if I told you you could eat here for 1/2 the price of Olive Garden and get 2x the amount of food? And of equal or better quality.Great Value. Only reason one star is missing is due to ambiance and the fact that the bartender/server was a little pushy on the upselling/recommendations. Other than that, I respect the hustle and will be back.

Good food, very generous portions. Staff was friendly and quick. Good place now that Dinos closed across the street). Prices are average for the area and food

I enjoy each meal I have when I order from Johnny's Cafe. My only suggestion is to have patience when you go, this is a small place and sometimes the service is on point and other times it's not. I have never had a bad moment when I go here to eat. I do love their garlic salad dressing as well when I order my salad with my meal. This is a little hidden secret in Fox Lake.

Always great food, wonderful service. Definitely recommend to everyone with an appetite.

As a recent employee of this place I HIGHLY do not recommend. For people who do not know what goes on behind the scenes at this place let me give u some insite, first of all nobody who handles food in this establishment wears gloves they only require u to wash you're hands before clocking in and never again through out you're shift, they don't properly train anyone and just throw u into doing things and their POS system is not in order the owner barely knows where anything is, their cook alone has a huge list of problems with everyone who works there, he's disrespectful to everyone and when he's not cooking he's gambling on the clock which is highly unprofessional, the owner Lu is always late and on the phone instead of helping with training and even when u text/ call her she barely answers. I've reached out with great communication about coming back to work and even went in store and spoke with her and yet to hear anything about a schedule day to come back. UNPROFESSIONAL. My first day training she put down an employee and called him lazy and said mean things about him, again UNPROFESSIONAL, the restaurant hardly had ever any customers and when they do come she talks down on her employees in front of customers like it's okay. Customers are paying alot of money for most of their product to be great value * walmart* brand food items. U could just make your pizza at home at that point. Working 3 days in a row and I was doing all the cleaning and opening shift and taking orders and stocking and the owner took my tips, I was promised 15.50 at the start of my interview just to come to my first day and be done 15.00 an hour. This place is a joke, they really should learn from so many employees all quitting at once that something needs to change. Do better and change management because this place is a literal joke.

I have been here several times the food is always excellent and the prices are very reasonable. However I feel I must mention the service was terrible last night. We waited over 2 hours for our food other tables that arrived after us got their food before us. Then to top off the bad service I realize it was a mistake but the waitress dropped a marinara sauce fall and it splattered all over my designer white jacket. She did say she was sorry however, a free appetizer or a Pumpk drink would have been nice $178.I'm out.
