5 for service, 3 for food. The service was great. It was very busy so a seat at the counter meant no wait. We also love sitting at diner counters. Our server said she had been there 17 years. I think her name was Sarah. She gave us a run down of the menu and then excused herself to deliver food. She came back and told us they believe in hot food first. I agree and was glad that she did that. Sitting at the counter gave us a great view of the items going out. I definitely want to try the waffles the next time. They were golden brown and crispy looking.I opted for the Eggs Benedict. Hearty serving. The hollandaise was a little orange colored and didn't really have much taste, but it was fine. The Canadian bacon was a little sweet, so more like ham. It was all good. My husband got the breakfast with the eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. They are supposed to be known for their pancakes. The pancakes were okay. They were crisp on the edges which we liked, but a little doughy in the middle. Not bad at all, but we've had better. Give them a try. They have another location in Belvidere. It was a busy place and all the staff was friendly and busting their butts. A must try.

Love that diner-type feeling. I was looking for a "breakfast served all day" type of place while in Rockford. Enter Johnny Pamcakes. This is exactly what you are imagining. Ginormous servings, loud atmosphere, cling clanging silverware, and the smell of coffee, pay at the register..this isn't necessarily a bad thing. This is a decent, dependable breakfast and lunch place with old school character.

The fluffiest omelette I ever had the biscuits and gravy were great coffee taste great service was exceptional.

Solid hearty food. Be prepared to wait for a table if you arrive on the weekend. But, if you stick around, you won't leave hungry.

Went here for Mother's Day last year. They served me MOLDY WAFFLES with the mold cut off. The chocolate milk didn't make me sick, and it didn't taste curdled, so I guess it was a drink. Service was mildly quick, the place is often really crowded, and it's inside the local Harley Davidson, so if you've got a party large enough, you can just walk out the door and check out the shop. The bathrooms are fucking disgusting, saw a junkie shooting up in there, along with MORE MOLDY BREAD.I would rather shoot myself in the head than return here

They're only open limited hours, or I'd go there more often. Usually they are open when I'm working, but, when I can go, it's always delicious & a very busy place! Which is a good sign!!

First time to this location and the service is horrible. It took literally 20 mins for someone to acknowledge us after being seated and for them to take our order. Food was not bad. Decent. Will not be coming back to this location.

Everything is great !!!The food is always fresh and tasty.The service was excellent and the garden room in Belvedere was beautiful and comfortable.I love to take my friends there so I Can impress them.

The food is delicious and the service is excellent. My parents used to love to eat there. My mother liked the chicken and dumpling soup.

We were in town for a wedding, but decided to have a breakfast at Johnny Pamcakes. Excellent food. Great service I would go there again if I was in Rockford.
