This restaurant is a great place for date night or celebratory dinners. The ambiance is cozy, upscale and clean, offering a great place for relaxing conversation while dining. The food was fantastic. We had a filet and a surf and turf with shaved sprouts. They were cooked to perfection. The lobster bisque and wedge salad was also better than we could have imagined. Perhaps the best aspect was the service. Amongst the best I've ever experienced. Our waiter, Ryan was amazing. We felt like we had a very attentive personal guide for the evening. We were also greeted by name by the manager. Very classy. We never felt rushed throughout the evening. My wife and I were there for a good while, enjoying our night, and it was nice to not feel like we had to move on. You should know that the price is not cheap. Our meal for two, with drinks, was about $260. For this type of restaurant this isn't out of line, but you should know ahead of time. Well worth the price. Overall we had a wonderful experience here, and will definitely be back.

This is on a nice corner - large windows allow a view inside, which features nice lighting accents, a beautiful bar, and white tablecloth service. We had a reservation, and when we arrived we were promptly seated at a nice table. A server arrived, introduced herself, and provided water to the table. A few moments later, the waiter arrived, introduced himself and provided menus and a wine list.Shortly after that, a loaf of bread arrived - 6 slices, with nicely salted butter. It was a nice loaf, with a crispy crust that went well with the salted butter. Some things to consider: the sides are "family" size. We all ordered their hash browns, but honestly, it was so large we all took most of it home.To start with, my wife and I split a Caesar salad, which had white anchovies which was quite good. The croutons were good, and the parmesan cheese on the top was abundant. For entrees, I selected their 14 ounce Sirloin, which was a bottom cut, medium rare. My wife selected their Surf & Turf which had a filet and two scallops, while my son had their scallop dinner. My sirloin was cooked properly, seasoned properly, and was delicious. While it is a tougher cut than a tenderloin, it was so flavorful that it was a delight. My wife enjoyed her Surf & Turf, and my son enjoyed his scallops. One thing we all noted - the hash browns (my wife and son got the standard, I tried the loaded) were too salty. My wife noted "I really like salt, and these are too salty."We ordered a nice bottle of wine - corkage seemed a bit above market rate at 4 to 5 times street values, but you get really good service here. The wine glassware was very nice.I wish we could have tried dessert, but unfortunately, the hash browns were too filling. So this place has ambience, it has excellent service, and excellent food. What's not to like?

Celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary dinner here and despite the fact that I added this memento occasion to our reservation and also mentioned to the server when he inquired if we were celebrating an event, no recognition of our anniversary was acknowledged.

We had a lovely dining experience at Johnny's last night with outstanding service from the most charming server, Emily, and outstanding drinks and filling dinners. She was the most knowledgeable server with the sharpest and fastest responses to questions -- what a pro.We asked Emily for her recommendations and I ordered all of them, from drinks to dinner. She did not steer me wrong! The prime rib was incredible, although there was a decent 1/4 of the piece that was fat. Still, the garlic mashed potatoes were delicious and the goat cheese salad upgrade she recommended was perhaps the best salad I've ever eaten. We also had incredible martinis, like, outstanding and easy to throw back. If you like sweet cocktails, get the Simple Peach and enjoy yourself. For dessert, we had the turtle cheesecake and I don't always love cheesecake, but that piece was incredible and the caramel was not overwhelming as it usually is. Would we go back? Absolutely. Will we ask for Emily? Every time. Great night out!

I came here with a party of four and we all ordered steaks off of the menu. A couple of aged Ribeyes and a couple of sirloins. All were perfectly done as ordered. We shared a couple of sides along with the loaded hash browns. All in all the food was amazing along with an incredible server that made great recommendations off of the menu. If you're looking for an amazing steak Johnny Delmonico's is the place to go when in Madison.

The restaurant is very classic. Service was above average. Our server was Carey. His recommendations were spectacular. The food was delicious. This is a carnivore loving place. We ordered the filet mignon, NY Strip and Rib eye with bone marrow butter. My husband said the NY Strip was not well marbled but at 47 dollars the price did not reflect the best quality of meat. The steak comes with potatoes which we had different types. All were tasty and delicious. Desserts were 8 out of 10! The cookie on the creme brûlée was a little soggy. The dining room is very roomy and the tables and chairs comfy. There is a bar which was busy and vibrant.

Based on the yelp rating, I wasn't expecting much. Also, I've found a couple other Food Fight Group restaurants to be rubbish. But I gotta say, I came away pleasantly surprised. Kind of a legit restaurant/steakhouse in this midwest college town that tends to lean pretty casualish. Decent decor - I thought the AGM, hostess, and server were all very kind and welcoming. Thought the food was really solid - had a filet, salad, some potatoes. Good old fashioned.Pretty expensive though, so not sure I'd be that inclined to go on my dime or recommend it to someone who was visiting Madison. Like when I think of going to Wisconsin, I wouldn't say I'd like to spend more than I would at Keen's (NYC) or Jefferey's (ATX). But like if someone is going for work and needs a good steak, absolutley. I could be wrong but I don't get the sense there's much in terms of biz meals in Madison so this would be a good one.

Service was good. Friendly and nonchalant.Ambiance was to be expected. Nice, classy decor.Food was very good, for the most part. I ordered the salmon and it came out burnt. I tried eating it but I bit into burnt charred crispy black coal. All of the outside was that way, but largely the edges were black . I didn't send it back because I wasn't terribly hungry and I could still eat the middle.I'm sure it was an oversight, but a plate like that should never come out to the table.

Incredible experience at Delmonico's. Our server was incredible. The big windows are gorgeous. Cocktails are delicious, I had the French martini which was so good I got another. Both our steaks (filet) were cooked perfectly. The lobster bisque was delicious and the presentation was immaculate. We were celebrating a new job offer and they surprised us with complimentary champagne. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!
