Jaspers Food Spirits

"That wasn't bad" does not qualify as a strong endorsement, but that cannot fully help you to appreciate how "OK" this place was for dinner tonight.Before I go further, let me say that Jaspers is a bar/grill in the middle of nowhere. They are literally the only game in that town to eat unless you county the Sunday breakfasts served at the local church. To come in with high expectations means to leave disappointed. The first sign that we might have a problem came when I grabbed a high chair that was sticky on every surface. We cleaned it with baby wipes, but that didn't make it any less sticky.The menu has an OK variety, so there was hope. I ordered the BLT with no tomatoes and the waffle fries with sour cream. Others in our party ordered a chicken bacon ranch sandwich, a chicken wrap, and both fries and chips. My grandson had the Mac n cheese with fries.When the food arrived, I was immediately disappointed by the paltry amount of thinly-sliced bacon on the BLT. I can only compare it to my last BLT at Trailside in Weston, WI where they used thick cut bacon and plenty of it. There was so little bacon on this sandwich that it was tough to taste the bacon - it merely teased bacon flavor. The waffle fries were also devoid of flavor. A pretty meh meal, but with a funky stomach today, maybe that was best.My wife enjoyed her chicken bacon ranch sandwich. She said it tasted great, and she also enjoyed the homemade chips that Jaspers makes right on sight. My daughter ordered a chicken wrap with tenders, no tomatoes and ranch. The whole meal she lamented the lack of chicken in her chicken wrap. And she picked at a few fries before declaring them tasteless.I'll let my grandson's meal highlight the review. He had Mac n cheese with fries. For the Mac n cheese, he loved it. I will qualify this by saying it was kraft Mac n cheese and we did not feed him lunch. He may have eaten his own arm at that point. But even at 17 months he knows when food does not taste good. He ate one of his fries, but when I broke the next fries into pieces, he put one piece in his mouth and immediately spit it into his had. He then proceeded to place every piece of fry back into the basket. He DID polish off his Mac n cheese.So, a giant MEH for Jaspers. They are called Jaspers Food and Spirits, but I recommend focusing on the Spirits. They didn't make the Kraft Mac n Cheese and it turned out fine. I'm sure the beer is ice cold and I encourage you to indulge in those.

Definitely in the top 3 for Friday night perch. Several of us had broiled haddock, which was very good. Service was good as well. It's s fun place to meet friends.

I live in town here, and this place is always a hit. Great food, they never mess up my order, and the staff is always so helpful and friendly. The environment of this place is just wonderful and family like. Jaspers is the place to go !

Terrible service ..Haven't been here in 4 years and won't go back. Bartender had no personality except for throwing packets of butter or jelly to kitchen staff through service window. She sure enjoyed sitting on cooler tops to "rest". Worst bloody Mary in years that we had to wait forever for her to come ask for when we arrived. She couldn't take our breakfast order and we waited for server. But she was sure able to take many other "buddies" orders willingly. NO ONE came back to see if we needed anything or if our burnt breakfast steaks were OK! AGAIN had to "interrupt" bartender social hour to ask for a 2nd drink. What a terrible experience and our 1st 10% tip in many many years.So sad! To bad - nice place, but a Sunday bartender can give a terrible lasting impression..

The limited menu was disappointing. My daughter used to LOVE their grilled cheese sandwiches; she always begged us to go to Jaspers. Unfortunately she no longer feels that way...they did not have a grilled cheese on their very limited menu. To add insult to injury, the bar tender, while friendly, was more interested in the group of regulars/friends at the bar than the other patrons. It's a tough time in the service industry right now and we have been to many other bar/restaurants that are handling the situation much better. My recommendation to Jaspers: this virus has bankrupted so many small businesses, this is the time to win customer's loyalty...do it better than your competition! This is your chance, don't blow it on a limited menu and poor customer service.

First time here and good experience. Wait staff was welcoming, friendly and prompt. Atmosphere was comfortable. Camo wear was pushing 50% design of choice. Menu was better than normal bar food along with some tasty specialty items and daily specials. Extra bonus for families with small kids, the chicken nuggets were best I've ever seen.

Stopped in with friends, it's s great place to gather for fun. I had the cashew chicken salad, friend's had the mini Taco appetizer, chicken tenders and patti melt. All enjoyed it thoroughly. Had a great time with the meat raffle, what fun.
