J & M Bar And Grill

Decided to come here once I crossed over into WI for dinner. I had two New Glarus tokens for free beers at this bar, and it had decent reviews.The place was packed for a Thursday night, and, movie-esque, when PIC and I entered, all eyes were on us. (We WERE wearing flannel, but not locals.) Apparently most were there for a birthday party. However, soon all patrons were welcoming and chatty with us.There was only one bartender/server/busser who was busting his butt doing triple duty. He was friendly and quick (as he could be) to take orders and refills.The curds were terrific! Warmy and gooey, with a panko-crust. Spotted Cow on draft, in throwback commercial pint glasses. Reuben was spot on except needed more meat!!Unfortunately, bartender didn't honor free New Glarus tokens. Wah wah wahhhhh. FYI. Prices were cheap enough though, and I didn't make a fuss.Fun locals, good food, would return!

It's my local! We moved to Belleville August of 2021, and I adore this place. Was made welcome almost immediately.Great food, great people. I strongly suggest any of the burgers, the Reuben when it's 'in season' (starts at St Patrick's day, goes til they're tired of making it), Thursday night nachos, Wednesday s'ghetti. Biscuits and Gravy that can make a Southerner cry (happily)!They don't take cards, but there's an ATM in the corner.Lots of alcohol choices to boot.

Very friendly bar with inviting ambiance. Food a cut above typical bar food with great burgers, hot subs and premium cheese curds.

Is it the best burger I've ever had. Nope, not even close. But when riding on the Badger State Trail on a recent Saturday, it definitely hit the spot. Our bartender was warm and welcoming and for a bar in a small town, J&M had a decent tap list (although having a baltic porter on tap in summer is puzzling). A great place to stop in and grab a bite as you travel through town.

OMG, best burgers! This is a quaint little small town bar with limited seating in front and lots of extra seating in back.Burger was truly amazing

Get the burger. I'll come back for breakfast, but the burger is fantastic. My girlfriend would say the bun fails to hold up the juicy beef, but I think these are the food problems to have. The steak seasoning makes it. You don't have to order a temperature - it will come out perfectly soft-but-not-scary. Decent taps too. The broccoli poppers are missing something though. Who cares. Burgers.

"This is THE best burger ever!"That is a quote from my 10 year old niece Annika, burger connoisseur. She has been eating full size hamburgers since she was 5 - it's her go to whenever we are out to eat. The question is always, "It is as good as J & M?" and up until now, no burger has surpassed.

My wife and I came here for a burger once. We were told by someone to come here for "the best burger in town." I felt like I had some kind of practical joke played on me. Not only was it one of the worst burgers I ever had, but we waited an hour or so for our food.Then people laughed at us when I tried to pay with a debit card. You have to use their ATM to get cash to pay for your food.If you know the owner and just want a bar to get drunk in, come here. If you actually care about eating food, go to the café in town.

Great place to hang out, if you're close with the community you'll recognize a lot of people there too!
