This gem is quietly tucked behind an office building, but the search is worth the quest. Indian Groceries & Spices boasts exactly what its simple name suggests. The store is filled with fresh food, frozen treats, all the spices one would ever need and some unexpected surprises such as basil seed drinks that blew our minds. Nice people, clean store, decent prices and so much quality food. Their homemade samosas were A+. Check them out.

I have passed the sign for this store many times, but had not yet visited.Recently my mom and I made it a mission to check this out.We did not know what to expect, although I'd been impressed by the scope of their website offerings. The entrance is on the back of the building, not on North Avenue. You go up a ramp to get to the parking area. The store is actually on the second floor - there are steps or an elevator. There are two large rooms filled with products. Basically anything you can think of is to be found here. The produce section was small and not the freshest I've seen. The freezer cases and refrigerated meal options are incredible, as are the shelf stable meals and sauces. There are options for days and days. They also carry personal care items, a huge selection of incense, kitchen pans and utensils, spices, dry goods of very variety. This is a playground if you like Indian foods.

Mega hidden gem! One of our New Year resolutions is to make a different global cuisine each month (once a week). For January we landed on Indian dishes. We drooled like crazy looking at recipes online but quickly found that we were limited on the meals we could actually cook up if we kept looking for all the ingredients needed at Kroger, Meijer, Trader Joes and Whole Foods. Enter: Indian Groceries and Spices. Located right across from Mayfair on North Ave, the location is excellent and the selection mind-blowing. This place has everything your Indian dish recipe calls for and so much more! Be sure to check out the little cooler section by the checkout we scooped up some pre-made items like traditional Indian donuts and they have both green and red sauces available in plastic containers. Just the right amount for a single meal or to try them out before upgrading to larger bottles. They also have frozen paneer even the fried version which we LOVE. It helps when we are making something new from scratch to have that at least pre-made (makes it less stressful and keeps our concoctions edible, ha!) You can also get direct from India gifts here, teas by the box, drinks, vitamins, fresh produce and ice cream. I did expect the prices to be a bit higher but that was SO not the case. Things were very comparable if not more affordable here plus the selection - if you are looking for Indian specific foods/spices is unparalleled in MKE. Just keep in mind this is not a place to go for all your grocery needs, per say. The produce selection doesn't offer a ton of variety but for niche things, you will be covered. Oh and did I mention the people who work here are AMAZING? Very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. A+ on customer service! We left already knowing we will be repeat customers for life.

Wonderful vegetarian cooking classes with kind owners! We signed up for the class not knowing what to expect and had a great time. Also, great pre-made samosas.

Wasn't sure what to expect, but a great store. Comparable to the stores on Devon in Chicago. First you have to drive up this ramp to get to the parking lot. Looks like it is just one car at a time, so be careful going in and out. Lot was plenty spacious, though. Then you go inside the automatic door and have to go up again, either by stairs or elevator. Once all the way up, the place is very large, with huge selections of dry goods. I wish they had more fresh produce, but what they had was decent. I went in the days of COVID-19, and the staff had masks on, there was plexiglass at the checkout, and they had a pump of sanitizer to use.Good place, in all. I'll be back.

I came here on a whim looking to get some lentils and spice to make dal. Unknowingly, it was the grand opening of their new location across the street from the old. They had some tents setup outside with samples of frozen food and there was quite a crowd. The new location is huge but seems to lack overall organization. I only needed a cup of split yellow mung bean but unable to pass up a deal, I grabbed a four pound bag on sale for $3.50. (I'll be eating a lot of dal!) Spices were cheap but I skipped them as they were not in bottles. I also grabbed a can of coconut milk (not expired) for a buck and a bag of fresh naan. The staff was friendly, I couldn't find fried lentils so the cashier grabbed a bag for me.

A well-stocked grocery store with flour, rice, lentils, snacks, and a great variety of chutneys, sauces, and spices - above all ready-to-eat-meals. A neat and pleasant atmosphere adds a positive impact on the customers. With reasonable prices, we found it an economical shop for budget-minded buyers. In a tidy store, we found fresh products and vegetables. With a large range of different items, and of high quality it is something we could not find elsewhere. The staff was friendly and helpful. Easy to navigate through the aisles. For people of the Indian sub-continent, this is the right place to get items of their taste and likings. Over 3,000 items are offered online to satisfy the ever-increasing demand of the Indo-Pak people. Gluten-free shoppers will be delighted with the wide variety of options, including a wide variety of gluten-free flours, grains, and packaged items. Concisely, I was impressed by its well-stocked items in a clean and pleasant environment. With over 40 years of experience, this store is the right place to do your shopping.

Wonderful local Indian store. Everyone was very nice when I walked in I was greeted. At first I felt odd as a blk woman walking in the store but they made me feel right at home. The older gentleman at the cash register offered to help me locate the type of chutney sauce I wanted. I was also informed about the cooking classes that are offered. The cooking classes are pre scheduled and you would need to register. There is also a fee for the classes. The guy cooking was also very nice and talked to me about the classes and what they were going to cook that day. Overall wonderful experience! I was able to get ingredients to make samosas, and butter chicken with chapati bread. I also purchased some spices, incense, and hair oil. This is truly a one stop shop for your local middle eastern cuisine's.
