Hung Hao Restaurant

Egg rolls are my favorite item to order from Asian restaurants and unfortunately I've never been impressed by the one Hung Hao sells, so I've only ordered from Hung Hao a handful of times over the nine years I've lived in Germantown. It's been a while since I've tried it and I've never left a review, so I took another chance and ordered the Appetizer Combination For One (a pork and shrimp egg roll, one sweet and sour shrimp, one sweet and sour chicken, a crab rangoon, and marinated beef on a stick).All of the items, except the marinated beef on a stick, are fried and the breading retains more grease than I'd prefer. The sweet and sour shrimp doesn't have much going for it flavor wise outside of the greasy breading, but the sweet and sour chicken does with seemingly a little brine to the chicken. The crab rangoon is decent sized, but the mixture inside is more runny than firm and lacking on the (imitation) crab.The egg roll, which contains both pork and shrimp, is heavily coated in the same greasy breading as the sweet and sour shrimp/chicken. As I've experienced in the past, the inside has a slight mushy texture and the flavor has a grocery store freezer section quality. It may be well portioned, but I'd rather have quality over quantity in my egg rolls and their doesn't cut it.The star of the appetizer combination was the marinated beef on a stick. With three of the other four items being disappointing (the sweet and sour chicken was ok), I was glad to have at least one item be worth my time and money. In a pinch I'd get the marinated beef on a stick again, but I'd rather go elsewhere for entire meals that I enjoy more than just one item in the appetizer section.

Tried to order online. The web based ordering was turned off, stating they were closed even though the hours on the website had them open for another hour and a half. I then drove to the restaurant to place my order and they refused me in person, saying they had too many orders already. It was 40 minutes yet before closing. Plenty of time for a simple order of lo mein.

We go between this restaurant, and China Kitchen in Germantown. The food is pretty much always consistent and it is tasty.There's not a lot of personality when you go to pick up your food but that's not to say the food isn't good because it is.

This is no longer owned by the same family. It was sold and the food is not as good! Was the best place in Germantown now who knows!

I got the vegetable Szechuan noodles, first time trying and it was delicious! When I got home, the food was still really hot. Ready in 15 minutes and ordering on the app was easy

This was our favorite Germantown WI restaurant until it was sold. Recipes changed and it is not what it once was, sadly.

I love the food here. I'm a big fan of Kung Pao Chicken and the ingredients and how it is made. As I write this I think I need to go there soon for lunch or dinner.

The food was very delicious and fresh, the woman on the phone was very nice and cooperative while I was placing my order and the serving sizes are huge! Overall this is a great small restaurant and I will definitely order from here again!

We have been ordering out from this restaurant for many years. For the most part, the food has been really good. There have been a couple of times that we had ordered a dish with NO spice and it has been made medium-spicy. I understand that it can get busy and mistakes are made, therefore I am following up with this review after my daughter, Lexi Pfalzgraf, painted my husband and I as horrible people in her recent review. Again, we have enjoyed the food from this restaurant and appreciate the staff considering the "special" orders that I have placed with them (including special requests for Lexi's dishes).

Their food is always hot and delicious. I really miss their lunch buffet. Prices are really fair.
