Howards Grove Meat Market

This little meat market is on the main road, but still off the beaten path. In the small town of Howard's Grove, they have been making and smoking meats and sausages for over 100 years. This family owned marker offers Italian sausage, chorizo, bratwurst, and some specialty brats. The mouthwatering smell of smoked sausage permeates the air as you walk through the door. This comes in part from the homemade summer sausage hanging on a rack by the door. It is wrapped in parchment during the smoking process. There is no rind to peel. This is hands down the best summer sausage I ever had. I also picked up a pound of bratwurst. I'm anxious to get them on a grill. I expect them to be as good as the summer sausage was. This place is well worth the drive for me just for the summer sausage.
