Stopped in here for a post-dinner drink and enjoyed our cocktails and conversations with Brittany and Maress! Great service in a great space, and a place worth revisiting to try their craft burgers and chicken. Still, the bar is a comfy and pretty spot to enjoy a quick drink and chill.

It was fine...but nothing exceptional. Just your standard bar food. The apps were decent, service was also good. Mac and cheese was flavorless, sandwiches were messy and doing a bit too much but decent. The lettuce wraps were good but difficult to eat as the chicken is just boneless wings not cut up at all. Food was ok, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

First time eating here (overdue) and I cannot imagine anything better in my mouth than their honey butter which came with my humongous fried chicken breast and waffles. OMG. I understand the rave of this place. Breading on chicken a little salty for me but let's just dip that in the syrup and not a complaint in sight. The Belgium waffles were fluffy yet firm like they should be! YUMMMM$16.50, ordered delivery sometimes it's inflated once on those platforms.

Have had Hot Head in two occasions! First was take out, where we just got the regular Southern Fried, and it was SO salty! Fried chicken certainly needs to be salted, but my husband and I were grabbing for water to quench an undeniable thirst after we ate.More recently, I visited the restaurant itself to give it a go again. Space was great, got a seat at 7pm on a Saturday in the adjacent space, Crafty Cow, which shares a kitchen and menu apparently?!Spicy Paloma cocktail was good, just the right amount of kick. No straws unless you ask! Fried pickles to start were tasty, the dipping sauce was naughty it was so thick!! I got the chicken and cheddar sandwich, southern fried style. If it was going to be salty, I would know as there was bacon on it too! It was really a dense sandwich, and I only ate half, but it was good!! Pimento cheese was just the right amount. My friend got the Nashville hot style, and my goodness it smelled spicy, and was dripping red liquid that I would never touch, but if that's your thing, he loved it!! Overall happy with the in restaurant experience, which is usually way better than takeout anyways. If I go back, I want to try just the chicken plate, in the Honey Butter style!!

Strike 1: got my delivery order wrong. Ordered a 4 piece Nashville Hot dinner. Got plain chicken. Per the plain fried chicken, the breading was soggy and flavorless. Never before have I had fried chicken and thought, "huh, needs salt."Strike 2: Nashville Hot Poutine didn't have any chicken in it that I could find.Strike 3: girlfriend's $16 chicken sandwich was basically a chik-fil-a and didn't come with any fries. $16 chicken sandwich should be the most charming chicken sandwich anyone has ever laid eyes or taste buds on.

After two visits to this very well-known Hot Head/Crafty Cow on the very not hidden street of KK, I'm ready to review this basic burger and fried chicken restaurant that doesn't seem to do either dish especially well.Perhaps it's the dual business concept that one busy kitchen has to manage, but on both visits, our meals probably took an hour to be delivered after the order was taken. Neither night was especially busy. The fried chicken was extremely underwhelming. Over cooked and dry. On both visits we absolutely could not get enough of the Vietnamese Brussels Sprouts with chili lime sauce & cashews! I love the craft beer and flight options here (crafty), and can see coming back just for the brussels sprouts and a beer flight. But meals here probably aren't in my future.

Been wanting to try their Chicken for a long time but never was in the area until Christmas week. It's been about 10 days and I'm craving another chicken sandwich. Our party of 4 tried many items including Cheese curds, tacos, margaritas, Nashville Hot chicken sandwich, southern chicken sandwich, fries, Sangria and fried chicken.Everything was delicious! The Nashville hot, is hot for me but really good. I would get the sauce on the side next time. The southern fried chicken sammy, I cannot express how delish it was. Really crisp breading, juicy chicken, nice bun - fantastic. The only hiccup was the service was slow but we were in a group and really didn't notice until it became kind of excessive. However, the food came shortly after and was well worth the wait. I mean realistically it's chicken. Everyone should know, chicken doesn't cook in 5 minutes unless you want to be sick, so be patient! It's worth it!

Went here with my significant other after a very raving review from our best friend! We went when the dinner service time just started, so the restaurant was pretty empty! We sat by the windows as we looked over the menu. We ordered the 1) Fancy chicken sandwich2) can't see it on the menu now, but it was a chicken sandwich with guacamole and salsa, a Mexican style chicken sandwich Street parking can be easy to find at non peak times. UPDATE: went back and ordered a fancy chicken sandwich along with the Mac and cheese, did not disappoint! Amazing food! Would recommend and will return!

Mark it Zero! My takeout was wrong. K fine.... Overheard phone guy talking to manger and said well just tell her to be happy and eat it (since it was sandwiches vs the Mac and slaw I ordered.) I didn't want to make the 30 min round trip to get correct food. Then, I cut Owen off as he was gonna offer the next time GC cuz he told me to bring my boyfriend or husband with me for a meal. Ew. WOW. That made it worse. Honestly the only reason I didn't go to Hungry Sumo was cuz of their long take-out/seating list because they're phenomenal. Please go to Vanguard or Hungry Sumo. HotHead was was not busy enough for Friday at 7pm and all the bartenders sucked. I got a dried up orange slice as "fruit" for my $10 old-fashioned while I waited. Ick. They brought out "fresh" and I went with it but did not enjoy. Makes you wonder about the basement kitchen.Thankfully I found a neighbor to eat the food cuz I was appalled at action of throwing it away. Close this place.

Hot Head and its sister restaurant Crafty Cow have been on my radar for a while, but I never had the chance to stop in until this weekend. I grabbed a table for one and was greeted promptly and pleasantly by the bartender who appeared to be pulling double-duty. I failed to get her name, but she provided excellent service throughout the meal and deserves accolades.I got to business with a $5 happy hour Moscow Mule and an order of cheese curds. I've only lived in WI for five years and, aside from Culver's magnificent product, have probably only sampled curds from five or six other spots... But these were the best I've ever eaten, not close. The batter is so light and airy, it dissolves immediately in your mouth, and the cheese they use is exquisite. You get a heaping bowl for $8.50 or just $5 during happy hour (3-6 pm), and I would be making a return trip for more curds even if I hated the rest of the menu, which I certainly did not.I order 4 pieces of fried chicken and the full accompaniment of sauces (on the side, per my server's recommendation). The chicken was cooked divinely and would be perfectly good enough served plain. The mustard and honey butter sauces were great, and the hot sauce burned slowly and steadily at maybe a 7/10 heat level, certainly tolerable for most. I took my time with the meal, and my only regret is that I finished too full to sample anything else.I'll be back soon.
