This review (unfortunately) is for the food menu only (next paragraph). I'm not much of a beer drinker, but colleagues seem to always drag me out here every time we look for beer. I'll first review the bar itself I'll give it to this place tho, we always seem to have a good time either watching a game on their 4 - 5 TVs, playing pool, shuffleboard, or darts. Whenever we have visitors in town who are looking to pass the time instead of them staying at the hotel, Hops Haven seems to be at the very least a final 3 choice. We recently had some visitors and we actually stayed there until 2:30 in the morning. Surprisingly we weren't the only ones there - as there are regulars who stay even later than us nightly. The seating is also open where you can have your own private bar tables/stools, and there is also a dining area - which never really gets filled. Now to the food. This is your typical Sheboygan and small town Wisconsin bar food. Offering a wide range of burgers, Hops Haven seems to be a place where you can grab a sandwich or burger to go along with the wide range of beer on tap and/or bottle. My latest trip to Hops Haven, we ordered cheese curds to share and I had their signature burger with bacon, cheese, and egg all between a Sheboygan Hard Roll bun. They also offer sweet potato fries, pub chips or fries to go along with the burger. Between the burger/fries and the chest curds, the meal was filling and enough to hold it down for the rest of the night to drink (for my colleagues at least).

Stuck in 1988.The idea that any food establishment, not to mention brewery, does not accept the most widely accepted method of payment globally (credit card) is completely ridiculous. Great beer and food are not hard to come by, pick up your game and step into the 21st century!I, as a patron, should not be expected to use your ATM (which you own, and that charges me a fee) in order to conduct my patronage at your establishment. You've gotten so close to making a great place, until a patron has to pay for service, then the local stereotypical stupidity comes into play and you look at us like we're dumb?! Get with the program Hops!

Yay! This place is great. My husband and I had two hours to kill before checking into Victorian Village 'Family Summer Camp' in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. So what better way to spend that time than with a couple delicious quaffs after our 1.5 hour long hike/mosquito battle in the Kettle Moraine. There were about 10 beers on tap. I enjoyed the IPA and the Pilsner. My husband the Amber and Hefeweizen. We decided their seasonal brew, the Belgian Doppelbock, while tasty, would have sent us straight to the floor. We didn't eat here besides a bruschetta, which hit the spot, although was a bit oily for my liking. Menu looked like your standard bar fare. I'd say the best part of our trip here and what will definitely have us coming back was the owner Jeff, who has been brewing since at least 1996. We talked beer for quite a long time, and he filled us in on the history of the place, as well as the trials, travails and rewards of the brewing process. The place (which was formally known as the Port Washington Brewery) is on a corner of an old brick building and is spacious and airy inside. Games abound; pool, darts, foosball, arcade. We were told there is live music on weekends, and you can also view the brewing vats toward the back. Decor could use some more personality, but hey really you're just here to drink.

I've never been more pleased with a burger in my life. And the Mac and cheese was perfect. Everything blended perfectly with the beer as well. If you're looking for a food destination, look no further. I'm hooked and plan numerous return trips.

Meant to make this a while ago but, went to the bar with some buddies to drink on a weekday, was mostly empty for the most part. Got service from the owner or whoever that blonde older lady is but she may be the rudest bartender or owner I ever met. If you have a remotely young looking face, prepare to be carded, which is fine but when I was reached out my hand to take my Id back and she threw it past my hand on to the counter which was a red flag I should've have seen already. When I expressed my displeasure respectfully with it she started raising her voice and threatening to call the police, pretty much exploded on me. What also didn't help was some drunk middle-aged redneck dude tried to act like a tough guy and ask me what my problem is, not knowing at all what is happening in our conversation and is far luckier my friends talked me out of stepping outside to serve him a knuckle sandwich. The physical cash only thing was previously explained by others which is also a problem. Overall, pretty bad bar when it comes to other bars in that area which are considerably better, especially don't recommend if your young or a college student.

Continually the place we go when we want to hang out with friends and play some pool or darts. I would say the food is just okay, but we always like to go here during happy hour and get a good deal on drinks while playing a few rounds of pool or darts. Always a fun time!

A lot of games, a lot of TVs, a lot of beer, and rock solid food. I'm a fan. Also apparently Sam Dekker likes to come here, so there's that.Besides great burgers, with elaborate toppings, the only thing that I'd steer clear of is the tator tots. Mine tasted like what they'd taste like if I cooked them at home in a frying pan. They had that weird oil taste that you get from cooking hashbrowns, etc at home.

We wanted to like this place. Really. But I can't understand why they charge $6.50 for a pint of beer during happy hour, and $1.25 for a game of pool. Seems like they're charging metro prices instead of prices for downtown Sheboygan. Can't see a reason to go back.

This is a great spot so take the time to stop in if you are in the area. We tried the pretzels with beer cheese and the chicken sandwich. The hard roll makes the sandwich delicious. They offer a nice selection of beer featuring Three Sheeps. They get very busy in the evening so expect some noise.
