Honeydip Donuts

Honeydip isn't terribly far from the office I work at and is one of the few donut shops left in the area that I haven't tried, so I stopped in to pick up a couple one morning before work. I chose a cream cheese filled and a Dutch apple filled.The Dutch apple filled was ok. There wasn't a ton of apple filling inside the donut, so it was mostly dry bread with frosting. The filling was pretty standard with apple bits in a jelly like substance.The cream cheese filled was gross. Like the Dutch apple, a large portion was just dry bread, but unlike the filling in the Dutch apple, the cream cheese itself had a very off-putting taste to it. I spit out the bite I took that included the cream cheese and didn't bother eating the rest of the donut.As far as donut shops go, Honeydip isn't as good as Dunkin (shocking, I know) and is light-years behind Cranky Al's in terms of quality. If there was no other choice I would go back to Honeydip, but thankfully there are other options to choose from.

When ordering donuts for delivery, they always tend to give you the least popular ones. You never get crullers, long johns , frosted... they give you coconuts and nut covered. If you explain there for a younger crowd, they send you old people donuts. The pack the box is so tight that when you open them the frosting or the covering sticks to other donuts. Presentation is not the best. Dunkin' Donuts definitely is better. Disappointed with the selection after ordering three dozen and asking for a variety of types for a college student group.

I would give 5 stars if I was reviewing their sour cream donuts. If you love cake-y donuts, the sour cream ones are absolutely the best I have had around this area. I usually get the half dozen box for $5.99 and fill up on mostly those! Other than that, I'd also recommend the cream cheese and apple dutch donuts if you're into filling donuts. These are one of a kind!Other than that, they sell other breakfast foods, sandwiches, croissants, milk etc. but I've never bought anything other than donuts here. The reason I'm giving three stars is because the last time I was in, there was a customer in front of me who wasn't wearing a mask, even though it's mandated. I wish the store was better about COVID protocols and enforcing them.

I work near this location. Its clean and the donuts are usually fresh. They also offer unconventional things such as breakfast foods, tacos, french fries and cheese sticks among other items. I think that it is 24 hours, I could be wrong. Today I got a donut and a strawberry banana smoothie. The owner or guy who is usually working when i stop in is pretty cool. He doesn't say much but maybe that less is more? I stop in on the regular since im on this side of town. Grab yourself a buttermilk donut....the best!

So I went on a "donut crawl" with some friends in Milwaukee, and this place made the agenda. At each place, I tried their most basic recommended donut--I'd ask the cashier, "what do you recommend in terms of your most classic glaze donut, no frills" and then order that--in order to have some standard measurement/control. Honeydip's old fashioned buttermilk cake donut was surprisingly the best in the city. I know, I'm as bewildered as you are. But at the end of the day, your base glaze donut is the true measuring stick of your donut-making prowess. If you want the fancy stuff, go to Cranky Al's or Donut Squad, but if you want the classic, I'd say this is your place.

Inedible food. Really crappy sandwich. Don't get the breakfast sandwich. Gross gross gross.

The donuts are so insanely sweet that every donut tastes the same, like sugar. The flavors are almost impossible to differentiate. I got an apple fritter that was undercooked and the apples gave it a snotty wet texture that was pretty unpleasant.

im pregnant and was craving donuts so i had some doordashed and omg when i tell you this fulfilled my cravings. amazing
