I personally think this is a fantastic idea. Not only is the food great, but I got a sense of peaceful safety while I was eating. This cafe is actually located in the same brick and mortar structure as the church and it's gift shop.Peacefully walking the facility left me with a jaw dropping sense of aw. This cafe has it's own independent entrance facing the parking lot area. There is a lot of room for parking.Location. Again, another facility located in the beautiful rural areas of Washington County.

This cafe is attached to the cathedral. It had a homey feel, with terrazzo floors and three separate dining areas. We walked up a short flight of stairs to get to the counter to order. For lunch, there was a salad bar and homemade soups, or there were cold and hot sandwiches available for order. There were also fountain drinks, coffee and bottled water available. There was actually a fairly impressive selection on the salad bar for the size of the place. They had three kinds of potato salad, pasta salads, egg salad, tuna salad, that one apple salad with mayo that your mom used to make, fruit (pineapple, grapes and watermelon on our visit) and the salad bar had spinach, lettuce, chickpeas, peas, black beans, banana peppers, jalapeños, green peppers, cottage cheese, cheddar cheese, feta cheese, sunflower seeds, fried onions, red onions, bacon bits, diced ham and half a dozen dressings. I'm sure I missed something there. There were also dessert bars, cookies (some store bought) and homemade pie. Slices of pie are included with the salad bar price, as well as the homemade soups. We tried the chicken noodle soup, which was exactly what I would love someone to make for me if I was feeling under the weather, and the wild rice soup, which was nicely thick and hearty.I tried a bite of the cherry pie my husband had and my slice was blueberry. Both were good, simple pies, just like your grandma used to make. Whole pies are also available for a reasonable price, so even if you're not hungry, you might want to go in and take a pie home for later. There was a lemon crunch pie that sounded intriguing to me.Lunch for two was just $21 and some change, service was friendly and the food was good.

LOVE THIS PLACE! What a nice surprise in very impressive surroundings. We're pretty easy to please and I wouldn't call this "luxurious dining," more like a historic religious cafeteria. The coffee is modern (oat milk, a+ latte), the food is tasty and satisfying and the people working are very sweet. We'd come back any time! (The pumpkin chili is to die for, as is the pie. Yum!)

Didn't expect to find this little gem amidst the beautiful rolling hills of wisconsin. We decided to eat breakfast here before we make our pilgrimage up the hill, chapel, and tower. This cafe indeed is rich in history and character. This makes for a very rustic, yet homely ambiance. Breakfast was a thumbs up, made-to-order and fresh. I ordered St Patrick's favorite (eggs, hash browns, corned beef hash, toast). The oj was bottled, which is okay, but was almost room temp. I was told its usually in the drink coolers but they must have forgotten to stock it. That was the one and only hiccup. Be it breakfast or lunch, there is much much variety of food and beverage with made-from-scratch taste. Our fam ended up coming back for lunch. My cream of potato and bacon soup was awesome. Others had items such as burgers, nachos, and sandwiches, no complaints from anyone. Having the kids with us, we couldn't help but buy some cookies for the road. When the young lady asked us how many brownies we wanted, we said "All of them". Apologies from our family, brownies were sold out.

Used to love this place when they had a lovely buffet with homemade food. We were disappointed to see that it was under new management. When we were there they were out of the top three sandwiches we wanted. We decided to go elsewhere. Granted they had only been open under new management for a short time. I will go back to give them another chance

Lovely little place. I recommend the soup and salad bar. Is basically a buffet. The salad bar is good, and the soup has an indescriptible home made taste. They have good pie as well.Overall, This is a nice homely place.

Very cute cafe ... So friendly and great sense of humor. The prices very inexpensive and the menu not bad at all. The food is pretty good too. Many things on the wall ... take the time to look at them. Great place to grab a bite to eat before or after visiting and all that walking :)

This place is a hidden gem. Plan on having coffee or lunch here during your visit to the site. I had the pumpkin chili and Ruben sandwich. Both were fresh and very tasty. Food is brought to you by the very kind friars who live there. They have a somewhat limited staff so it can be a bit of a wait if during peak hours. Regardless, it is worth it and I like supporting the site.

I have always loved this place... in fact, it was a mandatory stop for us! Funky vibe with original menu and homemade food. However, my husband and I are quite sure we got food poisoning from this cafe from the tuna salad. Fortunately, our daughter ordered something else. It was the only thing we had eaten that our daughter had not and it was within the incubation period. We were indisposed for 36 hours and it delayed our return home for two days. Also noticed the cafe was not very busy and didn't look or smell as clean as it had in the past. Contacted the cafe via email and never heard back from them. Needless to say, disappointed in them.
