This market is gem - from the produce section to the traditional clothing for sale. Plus, their deli is amazing. The fresh produce section has fresh vegetables and herbs for Southeast Asian cooking that I haven't been able to find anywhere else in town. Also, I just love seeing all the beautiful clothing every time I visit. There are several things to try from the deli. First of all, the squash curry is incredible! It is so flavorful and healthy, and gets bonus points because they use coconut milk that doesn't contain sulfites. Their papaya salad is delicious too - just be sure when you order to know that when they ask you what heat level you want, that it's not on a Midwestern scale! I ordered "medium" which would probably be considered extra spicy by most Wisconsinites. Oh, and don't forget dessert! I highly recommend the Nava!Looking forward to trying the pho and I'm hopeful that it's the real deal.

Hmong Legacy market officially is home to my favorite pho in madison. I think it's also a top 3 in bbq in Madison. It is a really special pho and I really hope wveryone gets to try it one day. I think what makes it stand out is the broth. Their doing their own thing and I love it. The pho is so flavorful and rich but it goes down so smooth. I think what also makes it stand out is the chili sauce at the table. Very unique, unlike other chili oils I've tried. The bbq is amazing. The pork belly, sausage, ribs, stuffed chicken... everything is cooked to perfection. The sausage has a kick either some.herbs. the pork belly is melty but crispy on all the right places. Get it with sticky rice and papaya salad and it will be the most perfect meal.

One of those locally owned grocery stores with AMAZING food. Go right to the back and try some of everything. My favorite are the sausages! Not necessarily for the people who are watching their waistline but if you want to indulge, this is the place.

The deli in the back is a gem. Recommendations: sliced beef larb, spring rolls, sweet noodles, streamed rice rolls, pork belly, sausage. Their sliced beef larb and sticky rice are the real deal. Always spring for the extra peanut sauce for the spring rolls, it's fantastic.

This place is cute but their food is not as good. I ordered combo pho. First of all, as a Vietnamese, I'm very picky with pho. I grew up eating it. Their pho was not pho at all. Not sure if they were running of broth or something since we came around 5 pm. Their pho broth had no pho spices. The spices are the key to make great pho. If you used those spices, the pho broth typically would look a bit brownish before you put hoisin sauce. The broth was clear. It reminded me of hu tieu instead of pho. Hu tieu is known for clear broth and typically has shrimps. I literally saw those pho spices in their market store. They could have used them to enhance the flavors and make pho. Instead, they just used salt. We also got the pork rib as well. Again, too much salt. The egg rolls were too much vermicelli noodles than meat. They didn't that much flavors either. Maybe with COVID 19 pandemic, their quality has gone down. Their sticky rice was cooked perfectly well though. I would come back for their market though.

This a small, family-run Asian grocery store with a deli in back that serves a limited lunch and dinner menu. While most customers get their meals to go, there is a small dining area in the back of the store. The menu includes offerings like papaya salad, beef pho, roast pork belly, banh mi sandwiches and a stuffed chicken wing. Prices are exceptionally attractive, given the generous portions.I was disappointed by how dry my chicken leg / thigh was - they may have spent too much time under the heat lamp. I did enjoy balance of the sweet and bitter flavors in my Thai ice tea though. The parking lot in front of the store is small, but there is more parking in back.

I love this place! I'm so glad they are staying in good business during COVID. The stuffed chicken wings are my favorite hmong dish by far, and they don't skimp on the inner yumminess! So delicious. They make their own hmong sausage and egg rolls. The spicy sauce is so freaking delicious, and can't forget the Thai tea. Love!! Very kind people as well if you have questions about any of their products. I highly recommend if you want to try!

The Papaya Salad here is the cheapest around town and they give the most generous portion I've seen. I was in a mood for papaya salad and remembered reading about the hidden snack corner in this store. I went on a Friday afternoon and there was only one other patron in the snack area. I ordered the papaya salad ($5) and the man behind the counter asked "how many peppers?" then began to make the salad from scratch using a mortar and pestle. FYI if you want it spicy, tell them '4' peppers. I love and tolerate spicy food well, but this had my mouth sweating. The end product was a crisp, hearty sized to-go container of salty sweet goodness. The young green papayas were finely shredded and well balanced throughout. Also sprinkled atop were generous helpings of roasted peanuts. If you like your papaya salad a little saltier and fishier, ask for it in Laos Style. Thai style is what they serve at other Thai restaurants around town, which is more sweet and sour.Super friendly folks, mom-and-pop run business that I'll definitely support and recommend all my yelpers to try out! They also serve other favorites such as Larb, Pho, and fried fish! They have rearranged the store a bit and are now offering a nice area for a sit-down meal by the order counter.

I've been here a few times before but because I don't live in Madison, it's always good to come back to see this Hmong business still there. I go here for the meds most of the time but this time I actually tried their food and some Yelp reviewers said their stuffed chicken wings was good so I figured I should give that a try. To my surprise, it was actually good. Don't know why I never tried their food! It's good! Stuffed chicken wings were not dry and actually stuffed with the yummy glass noodles. Only downside is that they charge $3.50 for just one stuffed chicken wing. Which is pricy for a person on a budget or a student. But since I had my sisters with me I decided to buy enough for all of us! 8 wings with a small side of sticky rice= $44. Pricy but worth it. I've been craving for spring rolls lately and they had spring rolls! I had to get it! They are bomb! Especially their peanut butter paste that comes with it. Love love love. I recommend coming here for the Hmong food! They have a dine in area you can sit at and eat. Which is a plus. Their grocery section is pretty big. Looks small on the outside but inside it's pretty spacious and lots of stuff to choose from. They have mama noodles and the Korean spicy noodles too. They even have my favorite Korean dumplings! This place is a gem. Will continue to come back whenever I am in town!
