This is a food counter in Union South food court. One could self order in the 2 kiosks in front and pick up the order when ready. I went for a parmesan chicken bowl. It was enough for lunch for me. Chicken was flavorful and crispy.

Probably the best place to eat at union south to be honest, but still not the best. The bread is soggy, but the meats are good. They give you like one piece of greens per sandwich half, which is basically nothing. The Mac and cheese is also soggy. But nonetheless if I'm looking for quick food to fill me up that's actually decent in union south I'll go here.

The only place to get a salad at Union South. They also have a pretty extensive selection of sandwiches if that is more your thing. I've only ever ordered the salads there, but I've definitely been tempted to try some of the sandwiches, in particular the banh mi sandwich! :9Each salad comes with a Batch Bakehouse roll, which is pretty sweet! Actually, the partnership itself with Batch Bakehouse is pretty freaking awesome. You also have the option of adding chicken to any of the salads for an additional $2. TOTALLY worth it, if you ask me. For $2, you get a full chicken breast sliced over your salad instead of just a couple of strips. Tip: I've noticed that you get more bang for your buck if you order 'for here' instead of 'to go', which probably has something to do with the size of the plate (huge! and without a lid!) versus the size of the take-out container (smaller! with a lid!). So, if you are extra hungry and have some extra time, I'd suggest you ordering your salad (with added chicken) 'for here'! :)

Harvest Grains has high quality food for great prices. I'm a huge fan of the Cilantro Lime Salad. It's got flavor, crunch, a good salad to salad dressing ratio, and comes in a nice portion for less than $7. Their mac and cheese is also super good. You can tell because the cheese isn't at all like that fake box stuff. The staff here is very nice, and accommodating. I always ask for a little more salad dressing, and they happily oblige.

Probably the best place in Union South to get your lunch fixin's. They seem to have recently contracted with Batch Bakehouse to supply them with bread, and it is all so good now! Their Cuban and El Paso sandwiches are solid, and their specials that they bake in their fire oven are fantastic, but take nearly 10 minutes to prepare.Skip the mac and cheese (made with suuuuper goopy fake-cheese?!) and potatoes (soggy?!), and go straight for the apples for your side.

About what you would expect from a run-of-the-mill college student union food court. Careless student employees and loveless sandwiches. It'll fill you up for an agreeable price but don't expect much beyond that.

Harvest Grains is THE place to eat at Union South. They offer an impressive array of sandwiches and salads - all made with a focus on local, fresh ingredients. Some of my favorite sandwiches: - Banh Mi: a Vietnamese-street-food-style steak and veggie sandwich. The steak is tender, the veggies are fresh, and the Asian mayo adds a very nice kick to round out the flavors.- The Farmer's Market: a veggie sandwich with grilled portabella mushroom, veggies, and hummus. It's one of the most flavorful and addictive sandwiches I've ever had. This is definitely a go-to sandwich for me.- Pork Verde: a pulled-pork sandwich, cooked in green chilies with onions and feta cheese. It's hard to impress in words how amazingly good this sandwich is. The cheese balances out the tartness of the salsa and the onions perfectly complement the tender pork. Another go-to sandwich for sure.I also recommend the cilantro-lime salad. Fresh ingredients, delicious dressing, and it's topped with locally made blue tortilla chips and feta. When I'm craving a salad, this is my go to lunch. This is the best place to get lunch on campus, period. Cheap, healthy, delicious food with a focus on local and sustainable sources? What's not to love?
