Very disappointed. Went to their stand by the drive in. Everything looked good but then I realized the girl in the booth didn't have a mask on so I left without buying anything. I know I'm just one fish in the sea but if you can show respect to me by wearing a mask then I feel they don't deserve my money.

This is my favorite place to go shop for flowers and plants. They have a huge selection and they always look great! The prices are reasonable , especially for how big and beautiful everything is. I have been shopping here for years and the flowers do great all summer long. I make sure to keep them watered and fertilize weekly. They also have a great selection of Knick knacks and sauces for food. We tried a beef stew starter. It was delicious! We will definitely keep shopping at Harms Farm!

The best quality and variety of flowers and vegetable plants in the area. Even in the worst of years their plants are hearty and healthy.

Harms Farms solved so many problems for me! This nursery had the bushes I had been looking for since just forever! They carry plants for my garden that I could not find anywhere. No one else had kohlrabi. We love it. I always check Harms Farm in McHenry first when I am in the mood to plant!!

I've been a Harm's customer for 2 years and I'm very happy with their service. They have a non nonsense approach to landscaping needs. Definitely recommend.

The wonderful people of Harms Farm are just finishing up a major landscaping project for me. First, it should be noted that a number of other companies would not touch the project. The Harms team came in with realistic understanding of the magnitude of the project and a very reasonable price. Theresa was often on hand to guide and participate in the construction. Project leader, Zack is personable and hardworking as can be. What a great experience. I'm already dreaming up more projects!!

Always friendly and knowledgeable, they carry a wide range of nearly everything from flowers and vegetables to landscaping needs and local produce. There are bigger places, there are cheaper places... but their plants are healthy and locally grown, with the local environment in mind. This is a family business and they know their plants. I called about Zinnias and they have several varieties... but they let it be known that they can't be planted yet because of the night temps. Who else would steer you away from buying something? They're a great McHenry establishment and serve the community well.

What a very disappointing experience I just had at Harms Farm and Garden Center in McHenry. My friends and family have been customers of this establishment for several years. We've purchased flowers, vegetable plants for the garden, produce, gift certificates for our friends, landscaping services, etc. We even had them build our back yard patio. But after the service I received today I can tell you that they just lost three customers and most likely more when I share my story. It's a shame too since I live just one block away. Earlier this summer I purchased $45 worth of flowers for a partial shade/partial sun area of my home. I spoke with the girl working there about how to plant and care for these flowers. She was very pleasant as all the staff usually are. I cared for them as instructed but they withered and died starting a week after purchase. Today I went to the farm with my receipt and a picture of the withered plants. The female owner of this establishment was combative and rude before I had the chance to complete my first sentence. She was loud, her posture was defensive and she flat out blamed me for the death of the flowers. Her exact words were "the flowers were alive when they left here." We'll of course they were. But seriously, is that how a customer should be treated? This experience was so unlike any other "purchasing" interaction I've ever had there I found it difficult to respond. I consider myself a pretty decent gardener. I have a thriving vegetable garden and many other flowering plants at home. I wasn't asking for a complete refund. I realize we had a lot of rain in June and that could have been a contributing factor. This overbearing, rude woman finally agreed to give us a $14.75 store credit which I won't use now because of her attitude and complete lack of customer service skills. Funny, Countryside Flowers offers a 100% refund. And they don't belittle their customers. I won't spend another penny at Harms Farm after this. And I will be sharing my experience with everyone I know. It's not about the money here. It's about the horrible treatment I was subjected to by an owner of the business.
