If a Mexican restaurant makes Lengua and Tripas right, then it deserves a five star rating.That is the mark of authentic Mexican food.

Phenomenal food and prices! The service has always been amazing. The chicken tacos are amazing and so is their steak burritos. I typically get dinner and then order some to go for the next day. Yes! That good! Also their Horchatas are amazing! Get a small though it's very sweet. Also noticed that they do deliver.

My first meal in Rockford was a forgettable one. Good thing I'm writing this not too long afterwards.Looking for food on a Sunday night near the Rockford Memorial Hospital was extremely difficult. I should've known that everything in Rockford closes before 8 PM...DUH! We saw this place across the street from the gas station, wasn't sure if it was open since there were zero cars in the parking lot, but surprisingly it was. We ordered queso fundido con chorizo: pretty tasty! I know it's greasy but the ingredients make it like that. Since we got it to go, I added cilantro and some veggies to it to make it like a meal. My friend described the carne asada super burrito (filled with rice) as "blah" - nothing more, nothing less. It definitely filled him up with more to spare but if it doesn't taste great, who cares? I got a carne asada taco and a pollo taco, both were somewhat fresh, not overcooked, not spectacular. The flavoring in the carne asada was almost lacking...it was more like cooked steak pieces. Same with the chicken - like boiled shredded chicken.Kudos for being open on Sunday at 8 PM!

Good Mexican food at cheap prices! I ordered the chimichanga with beef, and it was gigantic. The salsa that came with the chips was full of flavor. My girlfriend, who ordered a veggie burrito, basically got lettuce and beans. So I'm not sure this place is great for vegetarians. The margaritas were also huge, and they didn't skimp on the tequila. One item that left a sour taste was the settling. We gave them a 100 dollars for a 60 dollar bill, and got 14 dollars in return. That seemed like a pretty big oversight but I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt.If we were in the area, I would go back but I'd check my money carefully.

Pros: Excellent tacos and salsas. Friendly staff. Cons: Worst Margarita ever. Ordered lime on the rocks and it was the color of green jello and tasted the same. Use real lime juice please. Your food is authentic, please put the same care into your drinks.

Food was bland no flavor lettuce was old on both dishes my girl had a flauta dinner and it a sope dinner the sopes were fried like crazy and her tortillas were over cooked and dry we also saw a roach run across the floor and roach on the counter dead by register we told the lady and she charged us full price dont go there

They have the best steak tacos so far. Great customer service establishment was and is always clean..English is spoken clearly and the staff is great! I give 5 stars. Keep up the great work San Jose!
