We were in town to see the Christmas lights at the Rotary Gardens and needed dinner before heading back to Madison. We had a hankering for Mexican and this place looked like the winner on Yelp.This place really can turn tables fast. The waiter in our section was running to serve the tables - actually running. My butt had not yet hit the seat and he was asking me what I wanted to drink. Crazy.The free chips and salsa were good as was the raspberry margarita (not a good deal compared to the food which was very reasonably priced.) We both ordered the enchiladas supreme which came with four enchiladas but beans and rice were extra. The enchiladas were OK. The red sauce was kind of bland and the cheese in the enchiladas seemed like a cheese sauce. Not impressed.I would look elsewhere for my next Mexican in this area.

I will preface this review by saying that I am not someone who tends to thumb his nose at most Mexican restaurants simply because I grew up eating the best Mexican food this side of the border. Truth be told, I actually enjoy Taco Bell. Today, I decided that I would try Hacienda Real. Not only was the food terrible. I ordered taquitos with rice and beans. Who knew that anyone could ruin one of the simplest items on a Mexican menu? Well I found who. They were poorly put together. I think they used days-old beef tinga which absorbed much of the oil in which they were cooked. I couldn't get through one of the taquitos. All I ate off my plate was the rice. The beans were warm and the chips and salsa also were lackluster. And to make things worse, when I registered my complaint about the quality of the meal I had been served the gentleman at the register not only doubled down on what the restaurant had served me but attributed my dislike of the taquitos to my Mexican family's regional origins. For all he knew, my family's origins may not have differed from his or the restaurant's owners. In terms of service, what may have given the restaurant a slightly higher rating was lost due to a lack of effort by the lead man's inability to try and make things right and his bad attitude. My one stat was actually earned by the server who was efficient and showed some concern when he saw that my plate was still full. Save your money and find a different venue for Mexican food. It was that bad.

The parking lot was full... looked like a good sign to me!! We were worried we'd have to wait, but there was no wait!The server was pleasant and quick with our orders (as well as the neighboring tables)! We had the combo fajitas for two. There was plenty of meat and veggies (and they're actually cooked... been to a number of places the vegetables have just "kissed" the heat and are still very crisp).I love the decor of the restaurant. The colors are bright and everything is so clean!

Don't try to order takeout. Spent a few minutes putting together an online order through yelp, they don't order through yelp. So I spent a few minutes on their website putting in my order, went to put it in and "too much web traffic, cant accept order"So i drove down there to try and put in a to go order and waited for 10 minutes in the front lobby directly in front of the front desk only to have servers and the host pace through the area actually ignoring me, and start seating people who had walked in after me. I left without anyone even saying hi to me.
