Guac Star

I tried Guac Star for the first time tonight for dinner.The food was pretty good, I was able to try 2 different quesadillas- the chorizo and the steak. The steak had a nice flavor to it. The decor inside the restaurant was pretty cool too and our waiter was friendly.I only subtract a star because it does seem pretty expensive for what you get - for $15 a quesadilla plate, I was expecting rice and beans as well, but sadly they are not included.Overall, a nice restaurant with good food, but a bit pricey.

I was hoping this was a good find as it's located in a prime area. We stopped in here and I was disappointed to see staff were sitting at the bar alongside eating their food and going back and forth between eating and serving. The food was decent. There was a smell coming from one side of the restaurant and it definitely tainted the experience.

The food was great & we had the restaurant to ourselves on a Friday night! The owner/manager Kevin was very personable to my folks and made sure that we felt at home and very open. The quality of meat was very good (chicken) I believe the waitress said that it was "farm fresh." I think guac, salsa, and chips for $16 is quite the price to pay. I did the guac and chips, I needed to add some salt to the guac but it was very fresh as well. I thought the finely diced jalapeños on the side added a nice touch to my burrito as well. Customer service by the waiter could be improved upon, involving listening skills...he asked if we wanted a "pitcher" of water (there were 4 of us & we all wanted water) to which I said yes...but instead were brought cups. Side note; I asked for lemon with the water as well, which they only had limes available. This is a cool & casual style Mexican restaurant. Don't expect fancy, but you will leave satisfied and possibly with some good conversation on the side!

Great location off Main Street in the heart of Lake Geneva just steps away from the lake. Guar Star was a clever name so the family and I popped in for lunch. The service was great with multiple people checking on you. The restaurant is a little small but cozy. They have a cool vintage video game on the front that my kids loved. The food was good. A little pricey with drinks came to $87 but is to be expected for Lake Geneva. I would recommend.

Hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to. I got the steak tacos and let me tell you pictures do not do justice. I came here with my bf and our friends and we were in such a bad mood a couple weeks ago because we could not find a place to eat. We sat somewhere previously for 40 minutes and did not get served. The staff was out of this world. Our server Ariana was so nice and and came in to check on us multiple times. One lady was walking around with fun straws and kept filling up our waters. Another guy working there came and brought us hot sauce which was amazing. I truly felt like a princess by all the staff waiting on my friends and I. The hot sauce was so good that my friend and I needed up buying a bottle I got the last one but the guy who was so nice enough to introduce us to the hot sauce let my friend buy the one that was already open. We live in Chicago so it was a treat to take this hot sauce home. The music they had playing was also so good! It was a wide variety of songs. Overall, would come back here again for the great staff, food, ambience and hot sauce!

I was incredibly disappointed by my experience here, especially the service. I walked in with my family with nobody saying anything to us about seating. So I asked about seating and they said "one of us will come to you" and we proceeded to wait a few minutes when there were several tables available.The person who took our order could really use some additional training because ordering food with her was an awkward experience. She wasn't explaining anything when we asked. My mom who doesn't know what pico is asked her what pico is and she just looked at her and said "pico de gallo". That's not a description. Also, we asked if she could make a piña colada without alcohol and she abruptly said no. Ok that's fine but please say "it comes prepared already with alcohol" instead of a flat out no. I had asked someone else, which is how I knew it wasn't made fresh at the bar. The drink tasted fine. Additionally, she poorly asked what we want in a burrito and when we asked more details about it she had responded quite rudely saying nothing comes in the burrito but didn't proceed to give us options or point anything out in the menu. I also witnessed her being very rude to other people. There's an iPad near a sign that says "order" which looks like you would be able to order by yourself. A group of people started touching the iPad and she jumped at them for touching it. To be honest, the placement of the ORDER sign being under the iPad is very misleading. So overall, I'm very disappointed with the service. I will not be coming back, not because of the food but because of how we were treated.

We are from Illinois. Not only was Frankie a great server but the food was great! The avocado and my favorite drink Paloma's were GREAT! Off topic here but my hunny refuses to go to the bathroom at public restaurant but he said this was the most cleanest comfortable and smelled good place to take care of business! Almost like a studio apartment bathroom. Lbvs Centano/Flores. Thank you.

The most horrible margaritas I've ever had in my life, it's just frozen Kool-Aid with tequila. I am very sad and disappointed.

You're going to want to eat here and you're going to be thinking about this place for days after. We can't wait to get back to Lake Geneva again. Walking around downtown this spot has perfect patio seating. They have a small but mighty menu. Steak tacos. Bomb. Al pastor tacos, even better. Easily the most delicious michelada I've had in a long time. This place is run by a fella who gets it. Simple menu with quality ingredients. Eat here. Just do it. You won't leave disappointed.

Waitress was rude. Food was mediocre. Don't ask to make your tacos Mexican style. They come out quite blande. The regular tacos are relatively better. It took way too long to bring out shareable guacamole and chips. Management really need to speak to the waitress. It spoils your experience when the waitress is rude.
