Great Lakes Distillery

WOW! How did I not find this place sooner. Easy parking behind the distillery as well as the surrounding area. The distillery has tours but we just came in for a few drinks and some food. By far the best food at a distillery/brewery that I've ever had. Lots of seating to enjoy your food and custom drinks. You can even buy different spirit bottles to go. Love this place and the staff/service provided and will be back frequently!No pictures this time as I couldn't help myself eating. :)

I like this place a lot! I stopped in here July 6th, 2024 with some friends and we all thouroughly enjoyed our visit. Great Lakes Distillery is located in the hip up-and-coming neighborhood: Walkers Point. It is a hundred year old warehouse that has been beautifully restored. It is a functioning distillery that offers tours and has a tasting room. They are also available for private events. If you are ever in the area I highly recommend stopping in!

I went to GLD for the first time to support Stillettos and Oak, a drag show and had a great time. The venue is on the corner with some parking. When you walk in there is a bar and seating for the distillery. To the left is a window to order from Henfox, which has a great menu and vegetarian options. The show was on the distillery floor which on a lower level and accessible by a double set of stairs. You will pass a bathroom and coatrack. The floor is a mix of high top seating, two booths that can be reserved and a bar. On this night they offered speciality drinks for each of the five artists. Each artist performed two numbers with an intermission.Super fun and a great crowd. Bring singles or get them from the staff. A tip kitten also walks around to collect money if you appreciate the performances. The host also hosts bingo. I had a great time and look forward to future events.

Charles is a great tour guide. He provided us with very cool information about the distillery and production in general. We got to taste several spirits and all of them were inspirational for drinks that we want to make in the near future. We're whiskey drinkers but the gin is one of the best we've ever had and absinthe is a must buy. Thank you so much Charles. Such a cool tour!

Stopped in for Old Fashioneds which were ok. But then we couldn't pass up trying some curds and cheesecake bombs. They were both EXCELLENT! Curds are clockshadow cheese which is the best. And ranch was good too.But the churro cheesecake bombs though....sooooo good!

One of my new favorite distilleries, food stops, and places to just hang out. Stopped in not too long after open and it was just us at the bar. We got to chat with the fantastic bartender and she gave us some samples to help decide which bottles we were going to buy as a gift and for ourselves. I'm just sad that I didn't have room to try the food because they have a lot of great looking vegetarian offerings. The bar is really neat and the space is pretty big. From talking with the staff it seems like it gets really busy in the evenings and during the school year.Everything we tried was fantastic and I highly recommend their "Dirty Helen" barrel strength bourbon. It's unbelievably smooth and I just drink it on the rocks! Their liquors are also great and it's hard finding any place that makes a walnut liquor. Let alone one that tastes great. This is worth another trip to Milwaukee in itself.

I came here for lunch and a tasting with friends. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful explaining the different whiskeys. It's a very fun atmosphere and the whiskeys are very good. We had lunch there as well from the Fox Den, the food is a separate company from the bar. Lunch was very good, fresh ingredients and creative options.

It's quite enjoyable to sit outside and enjoy the warm weather with a drink or two. Also, their food vendor (Fox Den) has vegan options - yay!

On a lazy Sunday afternoon, this was the right place to relax after a great lunch downtown. Definitely better than coffee lolThe bartender was amazing and super helpful. We got to try a bunch of their spirits, which was super helpful in getting our case of bottles. If you get a case of 6 bottles, they give you a 10% discount. The cocktail menu is fun and quite reasonably priced. We grabbed the bourbon old fashioned (on tap, meaning they have this pre made and just pour out), and the Milwaukee mule and sat outside, and got to enjoy the nice cushioned seats and live music. Dak DuBois was playing, and he was great. Mostly guitar while we were there, but then he sang and I loved his voice. Loved the table we had, which was fitted for a table fire, but as we were only there till about 4pm, it didn't come on. Came here on a weekend trip from Chicago. Awesome tour, bartenders, and drinks. Highly recommend!
