Beware! No Good! Very Sloppy! I brought 7 deer here over the past 2 years. I've been hunting for 20+ years and this is by far the worst deer processor that I've ever used. I asked for all the hides be saved and I never got any back. I requested roasts be cut and never received any. The packaging was all over the board. Weights were not indicated on the packages and varied from 7 oz to 2 lbs 15 oz. when I weighed them myself at home. The meat was also not frozen; several packages were bloody and smelled foul...I had to throw away many pounds.I spend a lot of time and money hunting each year, the last thing I want is for a butcher to ruin the meat. I will not be bringing any more deer to this processor. Obvious language barrier with owner. And according to my brother in law...his sausage isn't anything to write home about either.

Brought my deer here because I saw the website which showed smoked sausage and salami available. When i arrived he doesn't do those things, said the "other guy used to do that." I eventually decided on just having him grind 30 lbs of the meat and give me 50 lbs of meat to bring to someone else so i can have them make what i want. Going to give me the roasts, loins, and backstraps. 180 bucks for processing and then i have to pay more to have someone make me sausage. (-25 for cape taking the head for a mount) I will update as soon as i get the rest back in three weeks or so. Looks like the business is under new ownership and the website misrepresents the actual business.

Excellent sausage. Quick turnaround. I've eaten lots of venison sausage over the last 20 years and Milan knows how to make a great a great product. If you're in Lake or McHenry Co. head to Grainery to get your deer processed!

It's sad this place went to shit since I sold it in 2013 . I processed lots of deer at that location over the years many repeat customers. The new owners just don't know what they are doing very sad. Might have to open up a new location for deer processing

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Avoid them like the plague. I took 3 deer in for processing in November of 2014 and received back only a fraction of what I should gotten back. When I asked him where the rest of my venison was he said "That's it. That's all you get." They were also much more expensive than I expected. In short, I was ripped off. I've taken dozens of deer in over the years to several other butchers and have never been treated this way. I'll never go back. I hope they go out of business soon.

Nice guy and it seems small family owned, but dammit. I was excited to see the ownership change because the other guy was pretty awful and couldn't understand him through his accent. The new guy is not much better. Very broken english. Anyway, I brought a deer here last season for the advertised "$90 processing." What a joke. Grinding isn't included in the processing, just the steak cuts. How do you properly process a deer without grinding anything. He ended up charging me around $150. He had asked if I wanted any pork lard added to the grind, I said no. Turn around was quick, about a week. When I got it home, I realized he had added all of the tallow (waxy deer fat) to all of the grind. This ruins all of it!!! All jerky, sausages, and anything else you can do with ground meat was spoiled. Every bite caused a mouth coating gamey taste. I tried smoking the somer sausages I tried making anyway with it and it just left a horrible mess with all the rendered tallow in the bottom of the smoker. I couldn't even give this meat away. Their wrapping job was sloppy to say the least. Every butcher wrapped pack was saturated through with blood and the meat was still covered with hair. I'll keep my business with lake Geneva meats, they are awesome

pricey so i recommend taking not whole deer for processing but just what you want turned into bratwurst or salami. both of those are worth the $4 / # (per lb) .
