Dirty store. Rude employees. Some shady clientele. I don't criticize lightly. You must really have to offend me to make me give a bad review. How can you improve? Start by putting in a clean restroom for customers.

So excited to find a local market like this! It has all your international needs! It's a bit disorganized that the reason for a 4 and not a 5 star. I will 100% be returning for all my needs! I love supporting a local business as well!

Yesterday was my 1st visit to this Market. Coming from Wisconsin and driving through the neighborhood was a bit of an eye opener. No worries though. When I got there, the gentleman working the counter was super nice and very helpful. I was so happy to finally be able to purchase 50 lb bags of Botan Rice! And, they had fresh Asian eggplant and the spiced vinegar that is difficult to find. I was thrilled as these are my husbands favs.My sister was thrilled to find all the Asian snacks and candies she loves. We will visit again if we can't find rice in Wisconsin. And, yes, it's much closer than having to drive into Seafood City in Chicago.

This has to be one of Rockford's longest lasting Asian markets. They have been around since I was a child and they cater to any of your Asian products needed. They have all sorts of items that you can get from China town without driving all the way to the city. Coming here gets nostalgic with all the treats I used to get as a kid. They have hard candies such as lychee or ice coffee flavor which was one of my favs. If you have never been here, your missing out. This a local place and its always good to support these types of businesses in the area.

I love this Asian Food Market! They cram every imaginable asian food item they can on the shelves and coolers of this place. I have never been able to NOT find what I wanted here (eventually). I love all the different frozen fish, noodles, and wraps in the freezer case. The produce could be fresher sometimes but I'm sure that just depends on the day you go.There is a small deli case near the front where they sell premade asian foods that allow you to "try out" unusual items for a small price. You can use your debit card there.... alot of small asian stores that I previously went to in Rockford didn't allow that.... The girls that check me out there are always smiling and friendly but I don't think they understand a word that I am saying...I do wish that someone who speaks english well who works there would come up and ask me every once in a great while if I need help.....lol..... even though I am 1/4 asian, I DO need help!Oh yeah, super great prices here too...

Great Asian market. Loads of vegetables, meats, and fish! Find all those rare and authentic ingredients for hot and sour soup. Wonderful selection of Oriental sauces! I would be a regular here if they had more fruit. They also have a wall of dishes, Asian soup spoons, and many more kitchen accessories.

The only Asian store in The Rockford area where I can purchase fresh bean sprouts and thai basil. They have a good selection of seasonings and dry noodles but I always check the expectation dates. I also purchase my gochujang, chili garlic sauce and rice cakes and they have never been out of stock. I have not bought any meat products fresh or frozen so I can not comment on the quality or freshness. The staff is always friendly and willing to try to help you out to locate items. Go in the daylight because several scary people are sometimes hanging around in the parking lot.

Golden Market is really pathetic for an Asian supermarket, but it is the only one in town. However, it is very dirty and in a very shady neighborhood. I bought some red bean buns and they were so incredibly wretched I spit it out and threw away the rest. If you have a choice go to Valli to get what you need, but if they don't carry some herb you need to make spring rolls or something like that then your only choice is to shop at Golden Market or go to a quality Asian supermarket in Chicago.

I get all of my supplies for thai food cooking here. If you are looking for a good selection of produce including galangal, fresh lemongrass, Chinese broccoli, you are in luck. Great selection of dried rice noodle products, so you actually have choices, like in a true downtown Asian market. Great sauce selection too. Fresh Banh mi delivered at lunchtime. Neighborhood could be intimidating for suburban dwellers, but I have never had any trouble here.
