For fried chicken, or any deep fried food, it all starts with the oil. Golden Chicken must take care in straining their oil, keeping the flavor and not setting the temperature too high. Crispy golden fried chicken that locks in the moisture, but never oily. Fries are crispy and not oily too. This is how it is done. Cole slaw is outstanding. I've also had their short ribs. Covered in BBQ sauce that is tangy and slightly sweet. The meat falls off the bones....literally, falls off the bones as you pick it up.Only provides carryout or delivery, no dine in. Fast service from calling, placing the order and pick up. Made to order and steady business so allow 20-30 minutes when placing your order to pickup. Service is always pleasant when you order and picking up. Value, yes, prices a bit higher than other places, but you get what you pay for and the quality is outstanding.By far, the best place for fried chicken and BBQ ribs. You won't disappoint.

Came by for pickup. The service was exceptional in my opinion, I was taken back on how pleasant they were despite all the smoke from the amazing frying going on. For a ToGo type establishment, their chicken is one of the best home style fry I have had. Great value per dollar, can't wait for my next cheat day.

Been a customer of the Waukesha Golden Chicken for close to 25yrs. Great customer service always, but the brand is mostly known for its chicken. Since the original owner retired(a few yrs now) the quality of the chicken has taken a DRASTIC turn for the worst. We alsways order 16-20pcs at an approx. $45-$50(incl. tip). The chicken pcs Have been consistently small, notably the dark meat portions. We used to order once a week. We now order maybe once every 2 months, only to support this business, because we are STILL big fans of this place and are hoping things get better. Chicken thighs and drumsticks are pretty inexpensive, so don't see why the brand of quality chicken had to change.

As a person who loves ribs, I can say that this is the best place in Waukesha for ribs that fall off the bone and have a flavorful sauce that everyone enjoys. The food that I have received here is always good, warm, and delicious! And that's just about the best part of this place. The food keeps everyone I know coming back.The customer service here has never been the greatest. The employees seem bothered when customers are in the store. And one time when I showed up, during open hours, they turned their sign to closed even though it was suppose to be open and I made eye contact with the employees in store.However, customer service can be an easy fix to any company!So, other than the below average customer service; the food here is amazing, and it's the main reason that people, including me, keep coming back!

Really wish another restaurant would open up in waukesha. The restaurant hours are bogus and It's still Cash only! They need more employees or something cuz the phone just keeps ringing during store hours. I even tried calling again the same day an hour and a half later... still no answer. Sad! When your craving fried chicken and you have to go to KFC. Sad for sure.The fried chicken here is the best! Love it. But if your going to be open for only 5 hours. Hire someone to answer the phone. If it was a one time thing, I wouldn't care but it happens way to often. Good way to lose business.

We stopped in tonight and instead of getting chicken, which we absolutely love, we got a single and double with cheese hamburgers. They were fantastic! And of course, the customer service is always top-notch. I would highly recommend!
