Excellent sandwiches and a salad bar. We got the Rueben, prime steak with onions and patty melt, all so good.

We discovered this on our way to Horicon Marsh. What an incredible find!! Hand painted wildlife and scenery on the walls. Service was impeccable!! The food was outstanding! I recommend the homemade cheese curds & 4" high Prime Rib sandwich. The fresh mushrooms & fried onions topped off the delicious sandwich. Traveling Madison was so worth the delicious food we were served. Love the owner & her son!!

This is not the place to get steak ! Yes they serve a dry overcooked piece of meat but , don't be fooled it's not steak. The onion ring stack that cleverly hid the meat was not the star of the show. The rings were salty and limp with grease. I must confess I really did enjoy the soda they served. I heard the fish is good.

AmericanWe were looking for a decent lunch spot and some folks from the John Deere plant recommended ginger's so we gave it a shot. The place is pretty basic- not a whole lot in the way of decorations and probably the worlds coldest men's room that will give you shrinkage, but the food was solid and the prices were pretty good.Waitresses were quick with drink refills and the food came out quickly- and was tasty. Decent selection menu wise and there is definitely something for everyone there.Decent bar area, but we didn't hit it due to business reasons.Give it a shot if in the area!

We stopped for dinner on a Thursday evening. There were no other customers in the dining area or the bar. We were promptly seated and served. I ordered the special, a 10 oz New York strip steak and potato for $10, and added the soup and salad bar for a few dollars more. The steak was much better than one would expect for this price and it was expertly seared. The salad fixings were fresh, in spite of providing no choice in greens (iceberg lettuce rules here) there was a good selection. I would have enjoyed a side if it had been provided, a choice of salad greens, and potato options beyond baked or french fries. Over-all the meal was a good B+, Furnishings and decor are tired by 1970 standards, but we came in for dinner.

Morgan's at the Audubon Inn in Mayville was closedSunday so the desk clerk told us this place was open. It seems to cater to the sports bar crowd and yet has a few areas for dining. It's a relaxing place with some nicely done outdoors themed murals. Actually the ambience is somewhat disjointed with no unifying theme. The place is clean and not too noisy. The wait staff is friendly and efficient.I had Cajun Jumbo prawns. There was a bit too much cajun spice for my liking but still good - very good. The fries were very good. Considering the price of this entree, about $17.95, I'd give it only 3 stars. I considered 4 stars but the salad bar was a three star affair; that despite very good chicken noodle soup.I see that a couple at the next table was having the special: 1/2 broasted chicken for $9. Uff da! Talk about value for the money! My wife had the pan fried walleye($14.95). She gave me a big piece of the fillet because it was huge. The fish deserves 4 stars but her broasted potato fries were forgettable. If the entrees would have been $5. less then I would have given this place 4 stars.

We stopped here for early dinner on our way through Horicon. Friendly staff. Great fresh salad bar. 2 soups with the salad bar. We had the broasted chicken. They had a homemade Schaum torte for dessert! We were expecting bar food, but found food to be more homemade. Exceeded our expectations. If you've got passing through Horicon, it's worth a stop.

My son and I were in town and stumbled on this place. It is the oppitomy of a dive bar. I'm actually not saying that as a bad thing. It just is what it is. Just go in with those expectations. If you are not into trying out the local dive bars then this place is not for you. I love trying out the local hole in the wall and have my best meals at the most "questionable" places. This place was like that. My son (15) and I entered and were about ready to leave when we were greeted rather loudly and with much enthusiasm. We decided to stay and give it a go. So glad we did. We were originally going to order a couple sandwiches but the couple next to us had a pizza that looked good. So we decided to order the meat lover pizza. Wow. Just wow. It had pretty much every edible animal you could name on it. Yum! My son said it was the best pizza he had ever had. I agree. It was great! The service was exceptional and the bartender / waitress was fantastic. Treated us like family. And that's exactly why we come to places like this. It's not fancy, it's worn out, and a little funky. My kind of place. Will definitely be back when we're in the area.

Went this evening for supper. Menu is very small and food lacks flavor. I had a blt and it tasted of just mayo and bread. Others dining with me had burgers, which was also bland and no bacon flavor. I ordered a lemonade and it tasted like water with a squeeze of lemon. Not sure how you screw up lemonade. The only thing that was decent was the cheese curds, they are big and cheesy. Should have been a red flag when walking into a restaurant at supper time and no one is there, except at the bar.
