Georgie Porgie's Treefort Restaurant

A very interesting styled restaurant. Great for relaxing with friends and just enjoying the environment and conversation. Add to that... They have delicious burgers and more. Great customer service.

This is a great gem. I have been wanting to try this place forever, and it didn't disappoint. The atmosphere is pretty with all the tree stuff. The cheese egg tolls are really good. Just wish the cheese was a little hotter. The Porgie burger on wheat bun is amazing! Also, their fries tasted very similar to a major burger chain that starts with an "M". I can't say enough good things about this burger and can't wait to go back again.

Porgie: Georgie Porgie's (GP) has been serving burgers & custard since 1991. The restaurant gets its name from its founder George Liapis and has locations in Oak Creek and Racine. The restaurant's namesake burger is their version of a McDonald's "Big Mac" or Big Boy's "Big Boy". Ordered as is, it comes with Porgie Sauce, American cheese, lettuce, pickles and onions. The bun can either be a standard white, wheat, lettuce bed, or pretzel (for an additional charge). Pretzel was tempting but I'm never nuts about additional charges and I also kind of wanted to see what I thought of the burger's flavor with less distractions for my taste buds. Everything worked well with this particular burger. My lettuce, onions, and pickles were all fresh and crispy. There was copious amounts of the Porgie Sauce on both the top and bottom portions of the bun. It's that Porgie Sauce that really makes this burger shine as it is in no way an ersatz Big Mac sauce, but equal if not superior. The burger patty was flavorful, thick, & juicy and it never hurts topping it with melty American cheese. Lastly, the bun holding this hefty burger together was pillowy, pleasantly chewy, and I believe it was also slightly toasted. The bun to patty ratio also works well and does not suffer from what I jokingly refer to as "Big Mac Syndrome" in my burger reviews (Big Mac Syndrome is a burger with too much bun and not enough meat). Georgie Porgie's is a nice, local establishment that serves a variety of fast food items and frozen custard. This review is from my visit back in June 2023, which was my first time checking out the establishment. My family and I went here as we were in the mood for burgers and frozen custard. I ordered their Cheddar Melt burger, which comes in a toasted white bread, but I asked for it to be made using a wheat bun instead. My wife ordered a chipotle chicken sandwich. Additionally, we ordered wonton mozzarella sticks, Greek salad, and a butter pecan frozen custard blitz (their version of a blizzard/ concrete) with banana and salted pretzels as toppings.The food came out a short time after I placed the order. My wife order was right, but mine was incorrect. Even though I had asked for a wheat bun for my burger instead of the toasted white bread, I was still given it with white bread. So, I requested one of the staff members to have it changed to my original order. When they gave me my correct order, the burger was no longer a cheddar melt type burger but just a regular cheddar burger as the burger did not go through the proper toasting process. The burger meat patty to the bun ratio was way off. The bun was much bigger than the skinny meat patty. The meat wasn't quite flavorful, and the burger was just okay. The chipotle chicken sandwich was tasty. It had a decent flavor, and the cheese was properly melted. However, it too had a bun to meat patty ratio issue. The Greek salad was pretty tasty, and I liked it a lot. The wonton mozzarella sticks were a unique twist on the usual breaded mozzarella sticks, but they were just so-so in taste. Last but not least, the frozen custard blitz, which was the best part of our meal (followed by the Greek salad). The frozen custard flavor was delicious. Georgie Porgie's is a popular place among the locals. Its atmosphere is inviting, the service is good and friendly, the restaurant is clean, the menu variety is good, and the items are reasonably priced. I had an okay experience here. I most likely will go back for their frozen custard if I happen to be in the area.

This place is a hidden gem you might miss if you're driving too fast, but it's absolutely worth a stop! They offer vegetarian options, which I really appreciate since it's not always easy to find. The service was quick, and the cashier was super kind. The ambience was awesome--there was a car show happening when I visited, so I stayed, walked around, and enjoyed the music. Definitely a spot I recommend for great food and a fun atmosphere! Will be returning (:

First time trying this restaurant We weren't expecting much, we were just looking for a quick bite,But we're surprised by how tasty and delicious everything was, usually I take a photo and we weren't able to since we took a bite and finished before realizing. I live in Vegas and have lived in Milwaukee for many years and I've never had such a quality burger. We ordered pick up but my partner picked it up and mentioned how nice the restaurant was and how it felt very welcoming.

Not as good as I was expecting. This place got good write ups and it is reasonably priced as well. What they don't tell you is that indoor seating is extremely limited. They do have an out-building that they have heaters in and fans for the hot days. The food was alright. It wasn't the best food ever. I had a chicken Caesar salad, my husband had a burger, my mom had a chicken pita thing and my dad had a cheddar melt. Just was not impressed.

I'm in town visiting family. I was looking for a place to grab a burger. What a delight to find this place. A must try!! I will be back on my next visit.

New cookie butter crunch ice cream is probably the best ice cream I've ever had. Make sure you go try it when they have it! I hope they bring it back more often!

Overall great experience. Fun, cost friendly family environment with efficient service. Definitely will be back to try more of the menu!
