What a great dive! We did a little research (thanks again Yelp!) and knew we would love this place. When you walk up they have a two way door...they can see out, but you can't see in. You need to buzz the door to get in. If they like your face they will buzz you in. We made it into the bar....I guess they liked our faces....Absolutely a neighborhood bar and very friendly. The bartender asked where we were from (me CT and my gf MN) she laughed and said "how in the hell did you find this place?" I was going to tell her on Yelp, but I doubt there isn't much Yelp going on in Gee Willickers...;). Very cheap drinks and they can also fire up a pizza in their pizza oven. A pizza over? Who knew...man I love this part of the U.S.

Psst. Gee Willickers Saloon is ovr by derr on da corner. Hidden on the corner in a residential area. Security has improved so don't be worried, when you try to open the door and its locked. Just wait a second the bartender will buzz you in. In fact, Randy lives upstairs. A little local tavern with all the dive bar essentials. Chips clipped to the wall, Christmas lights, Old style bar stools, juke box, cheap drinks, comforts of not changing or don't fix unless it's broken, neon signs, and a pool table, and darts. Service is good, but not hurried. Just like home. Ahhhhh.

I like this place. They have a good beer selection for being a small bar on a corner in a residential area. They currently have 4 taps: Miller Lite, LB Riverwest Stein, LB IPA, and New Glarus Spotted Cow. The drink prices are pretty good. The lady tending bar was really nice and gave good customer service. You do have to get buzzed in to get in here, but just put your face in the window in the front door and wave, and in you go.

Every time we are in Milwaukee, we make it a point to stop at this bar. It's the quintessential neighborhood tavern with the best Juke box in town -- the old school kind with CDs! The crowd is always up for a good time, and the bartenders keep the party going. Michelle and Susan are two of the best!

This place is the quintessential corner tavern, the kind of joint that's not only a neighborhood dive bar, but a classic one that'll have you telling stories for years. There's always something to remember about a visit to Gee Willickers, and you might even leave with a free-drink card as a souvenir. Gee Willickers is easy to get to and always dependable. Randy, the barkeep and owner, is the nicest guy and the crowd here is always diverse and fun-loving. When we popped in recently there was a Pizza Hut pizza available for chow and some very enthusiastic patrons singing along to 80s classics. You're instantly pulled into the scene the moment Randy buzzes you in the door. The music is also very unusual. Instead of Top 40 bullshit you'll find burned CDs and compilations covering the gamut of popular music, from Johnny Cash and the Beatles to Corey Hart to Muddy Waters. It's a fun challenge to dig through all the various compilations in order to find stuff that you'd likely not play in most bars but fits Gee Willickers perfectly. This place is one of the most memorable bars ever, and the people are so welcoming and friendly. Plus, Randy just might treat you to a round of shots as the night ends, to go out in style. Check it out for sure.

Gee Willickers was my home away from home when I first moved to Milwaukee three or so years ago. Being kiddie corner from my first house in the city, I spent many nights stumbling home from here. (And by stumbling, I do mean falling into bushes occasionally.)Most days, when I walked in I'd find Randy, the bar owner who would greet us with a, "HEY HOW YA DOIN KIDS?" and two or three dogs that didn't really want to hang out with me but would if I gave them beef snacks. By the end of the night, after listening to the fantastic selection on the jukebox, and after many pitchers of $5 Blatz and $8 Riverwest Stein (yeah, I'm serious $8 pitchers of stein!), and I'm ready to go I'm usually reeled back in by free shots. This is a place that you show your face in twice and they treat you like family. So, go, already... you'll be sad that you've missed out on it all these years.

This place has the perfect ambiance to grab drinks and get together with your old friends. There's a jukebox, bartenders that care about how you're doing, and tacos that are splendid. I go to Gee Willickers whenever I'm back in town to catch up with great friends. Thank you, G.W.!

The quintessential corner bar. Some may balk at having to get buzzed in, but personally, I feel all safe & cozy inside knowing the bartenders are keeping a lookout. The jukebox is seriously awesome, plugged with crazy-eclectic homemade mixes - Loretta Lynn, Donny Hathaway, Cyndi Lauper, Iron Maiden, Big Country, etc. They'll turn it up if you ask, but be nice and ask the bartender or whoever gave you that dollar if they have any requests. You may discover old Frank there in the corner has a thing for Laura Branigan.Randy, the owner and jovial man-behind-the-music, often cooks up some snacks for his customers - crock-pots of brats on Packer Sundays, Sloppy Joes on soft burger buns, long-cooked meats and potatoes. There's always little bags of local De-Lish-Us chips, tubes of cashews and peanuts, and a hardly-used pizza oven. Drinks are cheap, strong, and often on the house, as fellow patrons love buying rounds for the crowd. I love Gee Willickers. It's a good, safe place for a girl to have a solo cocktail, or to show an out-of-towner real Milwaukee tavern culture. Say hi to Connie for me.

This place makes me so proud to be from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Specifically, Rio West. The owner Randy is about as good as it gets, and so are the kind women he has has working behind the bar. I actually popped my Gee Willickers cherry only a couple weeks ago and the bartendress made sure to welcome me warmly with a complimentary tequila rose cocktail when I inquired as to what it was. What a gem! They spin the best music--because you get to pick it via la jukebox. And there's two adorable beagles to pet and cuddle on when your company starts to head south. I've been back again recently and plan to continue to head back again and again. I heard they have a $1.50 taco night too on Wednesday (too hip to follow the Taco Tuesday trend). This entices my budget more than anything else, but moral of the story- God Bless Gee Willickers.

You must be buzzed in! That's the best. Bartenders are all great. This is truly a "cheers" bar. Go here once and U will have friends forever. Juke box has like 10,000 songs or something crazy. Get down here and try it. This is the perfect corner tavern.
