Ignored at the door for 5 minutes where all the staff avoided eye contact, waited 42 minutes for food. Just for it all the be criminally under seasoned not even salt or pepper. I feel like I definitely wasted $40. I would've been better off just going to McDonalds for breakfast. Save yourself some trouble and don't waste your time coming here

Typical greasy breakfast spot. I can only imaginge how many breakfasts have been served here after a long night out. I've driven by this establishment for three years and for breakfast they're parking lot is always busy. Today I had a terrible craving for a farm steak sandwich and had hoped it was on the menu when I walked in for my first time. Unfortunately it was not, but they did offer three steak versions ( strip, ribeye, and skirt). I ordered a NY strip with grilled onions and American cheese to go with fries potatoes with onions. It filled my craving, the steak was tender and the potatoes were well done as requested. If I had an issue it was the sliver of a pickle...I will be back as they show liver and onions on the menu for my next visit.

Fox Lake Family Restaurant is a Bi-Lingual establishment serving up some tasty eats without the pretentious hipster crowd. If you need a Spanish speaker, you will feel right at home. Even some of the dishes have a Mexican flare. The staff is super genuine and and welcoming. The diners seem to know the staff pretty well which is a sign that they frequent the restaurant. Also a sign that the food is tasty!I had the House Special #4 with bacon and I was not disappointed. The over-easy eggs were cooked to perfection. I used my syrup-saturated French toast to slop up every last bit of the runny yolk, adding an extra savor to my sweet. Most people would order with coffee, but for some reason I decided to wash it all down with a Pepsi. I will definitely swing by again when I have a better appetite! Delicious!

I stopped here for breakfast on my way out of town because it was not far from where I was. The place is right across from the lake so it has a great view of the lake while having a meal. The breakfast menu is one of the bigger ones with plenty of options. I was greeted right away and seated promptly with my menu and water on the table. The place has tables and booths and a giant tent next to the building for shady outside seating.I saw gyros and eggs on the menu and since that is one of my favorite breakfast plates that's what I ordered and it came fast. My first thought was that the gyro meat looked terrible and all hacked up into small pieces for some reason which is not good for my toast sandwich's that I like to make. After tasting the gyro meat I thought it was some of the tamest gyro meat and it didn't satisfy my gyro taste. The tzatziki sauce didn't match boring gyro meat because it was thick and flavorful and one of the better ones. My eggs were perfect sunny side up and the hash browns were nice and golden brown. I was completely amazed that sourdough toast was an option in this small town restaurant because most places don't offer it and no it was not the really good bakery kind but it is still my favorite toast.Overall this was just your average solid breakfast place with good service in a small town.

Fox Lake Family Restaurant is a go-to for breakfast. They have excellent prices, good food, and quick service. The wait staff is friendly and you're able to eat in a good time so you can enjoy your day. I've never tried any of their non-breakfast options, so I can't comment on that, but the breakfast food is good. Today I ordered the "hungry man special" which is 3 eggs, toast, potatoes, and 4 sausage links or bacon. I was able to split it to have 2 sausage and 2 bacon. This is more food than I'd normally want or be able to eat for breakfast, but for $6.99, why not? The hash browns were a little too mushy for my tastes, so if you're like me, I suggest ordering them crispy or well done. They have a tent out front currently with a ton of tables so you can eat outside. Although it's right on Rt 12 so the traffic is noisy, the view of the lake is nice.

Nice diner, wonderful food like mom makes. The staff are friendly and welcoming. My ice tea glass never hit empty, they make sure you have everything you need

I've been coming here for years. I always order the Fox Lake Omelet with NO cheese. Last weekend I was told I had to take the cheese. No adjustments. Huh? Waitress said, "You can add on, but you can't take away". So I asked if I can build my own omelet. Just Sausage, Onion, Green Pepper. NOPE! So I had to pick an omelet that didn't have cheese, but had other ingredients I really didn't want. The omelet shrunk from before and the side of pancakes that my partner got went from 2 regular sized to 2 silver dollar pancakes. I literally laughed out loud when I saw them. Not to be mean....I just couldn't believe my eyes! I then knew why the parking lot was so empty I thought they were closed. It is always a very busy place on Saturday mornings, but they were dead! This has been our go to friendly, reasonably priced, quick breakfast spot, but no more. They lost another customer.Whistle stop it is.

My husband and I went there this morning. I got the Mexican eggs with chorizo and jalapeños with hash brown and my husband got one of their skillets. Everything was delicious. The waitresses were so nice!! The orange juice was so darn good!!!!don't know if it was fleshly squeezed but man was it good!! The restaurant looked very clean but I didn't go into the rest rooms. Very friendly atmosphere and very attentive wait staff. Just over all a very nice experience and only seconds away from our home. THUMBS UP!!
