Beautiful little atmosphere with super friendly owners that work wonderfully as a team. I really enjoyed Bill's Blend and the LPR.Mary and Bill are very accommodating. I enjoyed talking to them both. So glad we stopped here on our way home to Chicago. We were planning on just doing a tasting but we each did a tasting and then a glass each as well. We even bought 2 bottles to go. Hoping to bring some friends back in the summer.

Girls day stop #2. We weren't sure we were where we were supposed to be. Drove up a driveway that seemed to be heading to a home. And it was but there was also a little shed that had a tasting room. So muddy on driveway. Super friendly couple that I assume own and run it. We actually felt like we were crashing a private party. But thay wasn't the case. We each ordered a flight of wine. It was quite reasonable. I didn't love that they used plastic for the tasting. I much prefer glass. The place was kind of cute. I liked the relaxed feel to it. I liked a few of the wines I tried. They also had some hand painted glasses that were quite pretty. They were displayed in the shower. You have to use what you have. I think they must do events also. It's a pretty setting and is probably beautiful in the summer. I'd like to come back and check it out then.

This place is a hidden gem and incredibly unique - you definitely can't find too many places very similar to Fermenting Cellars... and I mean this in a good way! I came here with a friend who lives in the area, and as we drove through some rural county roads, we started pulling into someone's driveway. I wondered why we were stopping at someone's house -- well, because that's where the winery is! The tasting room is basically in the couple's front living room so making it feel any more homey and intimate would be quite the challenge. The grounds also have a large pavilion where they host outdoor events and you can really enjoy some untapped nature. The place is absolutely beautiful. I came here in the winter with snow on the ground but definitely hope to come back in the nicer summer months. The wines themselves were likewise good, and while some of them were pretty unconventional, they were very fun to try. I never thought I'd try a coffee flavored wine, but now I can say I have! Some of them also had very unique stories to go with them! I ended up buying a bottle that combined red and white wine, and when not shaken it actually separated and you could see the two distinct in the bottle. Shake it up and enjoy the deliciousness. This is a super fun place for anyone to go, but if you're trying to show someone from out of town a unique place they probably can't find at home, definitely hit this place up!
