Stopped in for a cocktail before dinner at Maxie's. I assume the place has been there for a long time it has the old town neighborhood bar feel with a bunch of regulars at the bar. Plenty of tvs to watch sports. Plenty of machines that I assume you can gamble on and plenty of beer. Service was at the bar and was fine since it wasn't crowded. Stop by and have a beer before dinner.

I stopped over looking to get a Gin Rickey and relax a bit before heading home. The place is a neighborhood bar with regulars that gossip about other regulars I noticed. The place had all street parking taken but as I drove around the block I found that they have parking in the rear. The bar tender was friendly with everyone and talked to the regulars. I can't tell if they have any food and I didn't notice a pizza oven but they have chips and candy. I hate to complain about service but the bar tender couldn't even make a Gin Rickey after I told him how to make one, the bar has no lime juice which amazes me because it's only happened a few times to me. This is a dive bar for sure but to not have lime juice is ridiculous.

Came here to kill some time before our reservation at Maxie's. Hadn't been here in probably 10 years, it's in much better shape, the bartender was polite and friendly and the drinks were well priced. Would definitely stop back in.

Short review. Inexpensive drinks, home like atmosphere, warm and receptive. Divy yes..but not a true dive barLong review..I saw the front of this place and I'm thinking any place that serves PBR is ok by me. Came in quickly because you don't want to chill or annoy the people in the front of any bar or restaurant. I was as welcomed by an open spot 5 seats from the door . It was plenty warm. And the regulars were very welcoming I exchanged names and greetings to the bartender and other customers. I'm thinking to myself. This is the bizarro anti dive a polar opposite of a dive bar. it's unlike the dives I've ever been to. At first glance it's a dive bar. Drafts include all Miller Budweiser variety and Old style. It has a pool table. Second thing I noticed was " A "rating by dept of health. finally we follow New York's lead to tell customers the grade, although 8 years later. For the record this is a local tavern or local tap. Definitely not a dive bar. A dive bar is a place that has shady customers who may have drugs in or on them, or a gun or knife, on or near them. A customer with voices in or outside their head. And a dive bar is usually accompanied by a surly bartender/owner because no one else would hire them. A dive bar requires a risk of getting into a fight either with a customer, a bar staff or both. And even a slight risk of getting stabbed. Happily this place is not "that place". Amb 4Service 5Location 4Value 5. A bottle and a pint for $4.259/2018

A OK run down bar on a side street in Milwaukee sonewhere. The service was nothing special and they didn't have a good unique selection of beer but just the usual old Milwaukee crappie offering. The pool table was missing more than one ball which is bad

Holey moley this place has cheap drinks! Some friends and I visited Maxie's for dinner recently and when we heard how long the wait would be, we decided to head to Fairview to wait - out of the cold and out of the way of the crowds. We had a lovely experience. The drinks were really cheap (I ordered a Jameson & diet cola for $3.50 and a pint o' High Life was $1.50), the jukebox was adequately stocked, there was a pool table available... all in all it was a great place to wait. I probably wouldn't drive all the way to 'Tosa just to visit Fairview, but the next time Maxie's has a long wait, you know where to find me.

The Fairview Tap room is a place of magic. When you first enter you think it is your average bar but that you see all the things that make this place so special. First off the sink to wash your hands in in a corner for everyone to see. So if you are on a date you know that your partner has washed their hands. This is a cash only bar , but do not worry they have a ATM there. But be sure you have about five minutes to get your money since the ATM is on a old dial up modem. If you come and you are looking for love you might not be able to pick up one of the women in there, but do not worry they have a box of romance novels sitting on a table so you can at least read about love. All in all this is an awesome neighborhood bar and I will be visting again very soon.

David is the worst bartender I've even encountered. I'm a regular at the bar and when I walk in I always come with my headphones on so that I can listen to my music or be on my phone at leisure. generally when I go I mind my own business and don't bother anyone. I drink and go home always. on this particular night I went to the bar looking to unwind like any other day and David just so happened to be working. I asked for my usual pitcher of beer and I politely told David it was a lot of froth for a normal pour. He became upset and doing something he's never done, he poured my beer in my glass and refilled it with an attitude. After he poured my beer he proceeded to tell me that when I come into the bar I can not be on my headphones talking because the whole bar didn't want to hear my conversation. meanwhile there was music playing and other people in the bar who were not of color such as myself. He begins to curse me out and then gets mad at me because I asked him for a refund, he does it ; throws the money at me like I'm a dog or less than a human. After that he proceeds to curse me out some more and tell me to never come back after I told him not to throw money at me. Then after I picked my money up I was heading to the door and he picks up the phone and proceeds to call someone after I asked for the owner name and number. Which by the way he wouldn't give me, but not surprised since I'm an African American males who lives a block away. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THERE AGAIN AFTER THE WAY I WAS TREATED TONIGHT. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone even after years of being a regular!
